You know, this is not all about earning medals, it is about contributing to the forum with informative posts, or with intelligent questions that will elicit interesting answers...

Carl, well I'm blind in one eye and can't see out the other.
You will have something coming your way this week. My wife went back to work, broke leg and all.

Re: Them fancy medals adorning our posts
Congrats on 11 freakin' thousand posts Carl. I don't think I've never seen anyone with that many posts on any Forum I even been to. The Blue Max is well deserved.

As I was saying, there's one with 29000, one with 22000, two with 15000, three with 14000, 6 with over 10000, twenty five over 5000...
Those tankers sure write a lot!

Re: Them fancy medals adorning our posts
Howdy there Jeff, Kai, Blas, Joe, Za, Joe, Otto, Slon, :-D
Jeff, I know where your coming from. Glad to hear the wife is going back to work and is on the mend. Just recently, I managed to break the bones in Nr 3-4 toes, on my right foot--by accidently banging it into the the bottom of the antique oak Wardrobe I have.
Kai, thank you my favorite Finnish friend. :-D
Thank you Blas, it took several years to get here. If I can ever get a computer set-up at home, 20,000 is reachable in the near future.
Kai, I know a guy on a militaria site that about 2-3 years ago, had well over 13,000 postings there. No telling where he is at now?
Joe, im not sure of numbers for this award but, this award has been around since the 1700s and awarded through and slightly after WWI.
Thank you Otto, it has been fun especially recently :-D
Slon, thank you as well my friend. I don't think it will take you too long to catch up--just ask Friedrich ;-))

Re: Them fancy medals adorning our posts
Hi Kai, I will be looking forward to reading what you have to say. Keep them coming my friend and heck, make medical postings as well. Im interested in all. :-D
Also, this IS the first place I am admitting it on that I now have my own computer. I don't know when it will be set-up but, when I get it set up I have tons of crap (stuff) that I want to post here. Someone not long ago said that they expected me to have 20,000 postings by Christmas--they may have their wish--only the Christmas we are talking about-is Christmas 2009.

From 1740 to 1918, a total of 5,430 individuals received the ‘Pour le Merite’, including five recipients of the Grand Cross (established in 1866 and last awarded in 1879) and two royal recipients Grand Gross with Oak leaves). There were 1,687 awarded during the First World War.
Decorations and Awards: Awards of the ‘Pour le Merite’ to Prussian General Officers 1792-1815

Re: Them fancy medals adorning our posts
I might add to PzJgr's post that a few years ago, Detlev Niemann (a well-known and well liked German Militaria Dealer) came out with a 3 volume series listing the names and soem info about each P.l.M Recipient. This series is probebly the best set of books ever-on the P.l.M guys. These books are akin to Fellgiebels books on the RKT.

Im eagerly awaiting the Tour of California races. Sadly though, this race is not until sometime in Feb?
