I see the forum title "veteran" was changed to "WW2F veteran". That will keep things apart. Thanks to whoever had the idea

I wanted to erase any confusion on the subject, so I made the edit to indicate a WWII Forums veteran rather than a veteran of an other sort.

In reference to slipdigit's quest for an "AKA" for the senate-

How 'bout "snake pit" for senate? Or "sin8." Or my favorite, "that low-life organization of scumbellys that allows (fill in the blank) to be called a distinguished member?" Time to quaff a few root beers after that one....

It's about time to add some French medals . Many U.S, British but also Polish , Czech , Commonwealth Nations and many others were awarded those on the Battlefields and were proud to wear them. I am thinking of the Croix de Guerre, the médaille Militaire, and the Legion d'honneur. Below is the croix de guerre with WWII ribbon and Nomrandy streamer.

"During WWI and WWII, the French Croix de Guerre was awarded to both U.S. Army units and to individuals. The Croix de Guerre may be awarded at different levels of command. The level of the awarding command determines the appurtenance worn on the ribbon. The bronze palm indicates awarded by the Army; a silver gilt star by a corps; a silver star by a division; and bronze star by a regiment or brigade."

CROIX DE GUERRE

Might be a bit absurd - but what about... are you ready for it....

The Star of the Grand Cross of the Iron Cross

Who makes these names? Imagine that in german!

Only ever awarded twice... 20,000 posts?

Why dont you also add some norwegian medals?(I dont know how many norwegians there are on this forum, but it would still be nice to see some norwegian medals hanging up there, or is it down there?(Never mind) ) Here is a link if you need that: Norway's 2nd WW Medals
