A suggestion to the Powers That Be
Given all the other dohickies and what'sits, along with avatars and such might I suggest that a means of putting up those members who are veterans rank and possibly unit insignia or other significant stuff along that line in their header area?
It would just be a way of giving a bit of credit for their service and at the same time it might lend a air of credibility to the board as a whole.

Re: A suggestion to the Powers That Be
That's a great idea Terry! Peppy just made all the veterans usernames stand out with bold blue text and a star after their names. Giving them appropriate ranks and medals for their service is an even better idea. Suggestion noted and we'll implement this as soon as we can gather rank and medal info on our veterans.

Re: A suggestion to the Powers That Be
I was having trouble with the search feature today that I never had before. I was trying to look up Sea Fury and I could not get results because there had to be a four word minimum. I then tried Hawker Sea Fury aircraft and the search engine did not like the word Sea.
Did something change or is the search engine acting up ?

Try typing this in:
"Sea Fury"
including the quotes. I'll re-check the search function settings for you, will let you know...

Re: A suggestion to the Powers That Be
Actually TA152, I changed the search setting to allow searches on words of three characters. Before, four characters was the smallest.
Ask and ye shall receive!

Re: A suggestion to the Powers That Be
Well, I would like to offer a suggestion or two.
I was wondering if the forum could have a "reference section" to supplement all the discussion. The reference section could have specific articles on order of battle, battle tactics, etc as well as links pointing to other sources on WW2.
Also, rogues have helpfully posted information regarding memorials to the fallen. I know we have an obit section, but could we dedicate a section for these memorials, Unit memorials, and National cemeteries?

Re: A suggestion to the Powers That Be
How about some modification to the members public profile page. Have an area that Rogues can put some sort of person announcements, notifications, etc. For example, sometimes Rogues go MIA for awhile, and maybe something like this could be used to let those interested in his status. Or maybe a general overhaul of the public profile page could be looked at, who knows? Just an idea of course....Really!

Re: A suggestion to the Powers That Be
Only Mods can delete posts. A Rogue can always request to have a post deleted and I have never seen one that hasn't been deleted after such a request. It also prevents Rogues who have a hissy fit from deleting all their posts (and any information they have posted) in a moment of uncontrollable rage. :P

Certainly something worth talking about. We'll see what GroFaz has to say about it.

Re: A suggestion to the Powers That Be
The Double+ Postings occur when the Forum experiences its problems, usually when most people have difficulty viewing the pages. At any rate, will have to wait for a response from Herr Otto.
