I think that it would be a nice idea if, after hitting, say, 1000 posts, we should be able to change the little bit of writing under our names, as I have seen on (gasp!) other forums?

Generally, those are "subnicks" (nicknames below your user name) and are "earned" and bestowed by the mods. Sometimes very appropriate nicknames ; some times not, but generally always hilarious....

We don't currently allow this unless you are at least a WW2F Ace (5,000 posts) and even then you must request it from the mods. I like the idea though, maybe sometime down the road we will allow it for a mere 1,000.

What happened:

We allowed the yanks to take an original idea, split it into an eight part series rewritten by committee (under intense scrutiny from the legal & product placement departments), with regular odd breaks in the continuity for advertising, & multiple rewrites until the focus groups were happy.

Strangely, after all that processing... the laughter died a little.


(The only real laugh my Locks ever engendered were from my missus when I'd get 'em caught while putting my boots on.... & fall over... )

Cuneiform isn't really very good at transcribing jokes, so the meaning faded a bit with the translation. Read in the original this is a 'messhugga and kosher sandwich' type joke.

Technically, members do get new 'names/subnames'. If you've noticed, some people are 'Aces' while others a 'Veterans'. There is a system in place that changes your subname based on how many posts you have made.
