Default Radio & communications

Is there a thread or area in the forums concerning WW2 era radio and communications?

I'd like to read some discussion regarding battlefield and other long range portable communication systems as well as codes, protocol etc from all sides.

Or is this subject is too specialist?

Hi, and welcome to the forums Julz.
No, I've got a particular interest since my old man was Royal Corps of Signals. He's got a book which is more or less the 'bible' on wartime British radio equipment; I'll see if I can borrow it.
Meantime, there are other members with the sort of knowledge you're looking for to hand.

I'd love to see some of the Signals book Gordon.

One of the most underrated subjects of the war. Especially for Britain. I've talked to veterans from the Gordon Highlanders, and they all mentioned the problems or limitations with the early sets.

Julz, there is a very good search engine on this forum. Give it a try!

Yeah, it's a little too good. So many results to filter through but I keep trying.
