Trouble gettng on the forum
Lately, I have had a number of instances where I have been unable to get on the forum. The problem looks like the browser can't find the site. Instead, a bunch of photo options come up some from this site some from others. I have had to back door in several times through unrelated threads within the site to get in now. Any idea what the problem might be?

Re: Trouble gettng on the forum
I had noticed that you were not as active.
I have my ideas why, but it will take Otto to address the issue and he is unavailable at present with a sick father.

Re: Trouble gettng on the forum
it does seem browser related, downloading another browser might help to solve the problem,I use google chrome,as internet explorer was also giving this logging into issue, when I contacted my service provider,he recommended another browser, and it worked,I have also tried mozilla firefox, and recently removed it,as it caused some freezing, but google chrome works well! for me anyway,ray..

Re: Trouble gettng on the forum
I used Google and IE. Explorer has worked better than Google in my case but both are having some difficulty.

Re: Trouble gettng on the forum
It seems odd, but I have had no problems since the new server came on. I use Firefox and have no difficulties.

Re: Trouble gettng on the forum
TA, I also had some similar problems immediately after the new server came on line. Jeff had posted something on WW2talk about your system setting needing something added. It looked similar to an IP address, but I'm not all that computer savvy. I would look over there for it for you but I can not get on that site at all.

Re: Trouble gettng on the forum
TA, totally agree, I am having a lot of hassle getting on too. Keeps coming up page not found. It takes about 10 minutes of trying, refreshing and try again, before I get on.
Apart from that its a pleasure to be here!
regards John

Re: Trouble gettng on the forum
I use Firefox, have deleted all caches, cleared all history, etc etc and couldn't log on at all for the whole of this afternoon.

Re: Trouble gettng on the forum
My ability to log on seems to be "time related". I cannot get on in the am until nearly noon on some day, and then after about 7:00 pm I also "hang fire' and just quit trying. No difference which I use either, Firefox, IE8, or Chrome. They all fail equally in those time periods.
I don't mind, when I make contact it is always worth the time wait.

Nope, I can go anywhere else, including the "sister" forum ww2talk, and anyother site I wish to visit. Only ww2f is a problem getting onto at those times of the day.
Not my service provider for sure, it is a cable system at about 12 megabaud speed, and just fine. Just the server here is non-responsive, alone. But, I still love the place and it not being immediately accessible at certain times is not a biggie to me.

Re: Trouble gettng on the forum
Sadly, I don't have the PhD in computing technology to wade through some of the suggestions on that link. Give me a break - I just about know how to turn the thing on and off
What really baffles me is that this is the ONLY website I'm having any problems whatsoever with....

Re: Trouble gettng on the forum
it's ww2f.com .................period. Like Martin I can get on any site I please.
have had a thorough clean out and redistribution of all my data in the PC plus added memory installed the thing runs like a time trialist.
As Slip said when Otto returns everything will be adjusted............be patient and deal with the flow
go ride a bike in the mean time

That's very true ! It's very frustrating when you can't gain access to contribute to threads you've been involved in....as you say, the worst thing would be if we all felt totally apathetic and couldn't care less.....
