Default Crucible

Unnamed German Facility, near Swiss border, March 1945

Herr Eichel ran down the poorly lit hallway at extreme speed, shoving away an orderly and spilling coffee on the floor; but he did not care. Finally he reached his destination; he flipped a switch and hit a red button on the massive console.

--------

George Bentham manned his belly gun with an ever-vigilant eye sight that made his officers pround enough to award him numerous flight badges. "Just 5 more flights!" he told himself, excited to see his uncle back at the garage. But he knew to stay aware of the surroundings as he had heard numerous nightmare stories about massive flak concentrations.

Why were we sent to the Alps anyway? Not even Hitler would build industry up here... the officers wouldnt let anything slip....

After creating immense pleasure from scratching a very itchy spot on his back; he spotted something out of the corner of his eye. He turned his .50 to face it but it was too late.

This missle, later to be known as "Wasserfall" exploded in the vicinity of George and his fellow fliers taking down 15 B-29s as well as heavily damaging anything within a large radius.

To be continued.

Easily the most overpowered tank in history. Seriously - dual 280mm cannons?! It's not like the Allies had a tank with 200mm of armor!

Eichel was smiling like a child on Christmas day, except instead of toys and candy he had received blood as his present. He reported to his fellows down in the bowels of the facility of the success of Wasserfall: "Gentlemen, the missile projects sixth active trial has been an roaring success. Report this to Berlin and and tell the assembly lines that we recommend immediate mass production."

After a brief discussion with a colleague, Eichel had made his way down to his personal quarters at level 18/section 3.

Eichel sat down at his desk and clasped his face in his hands in sorrow.

He knew that the was was ever nearing its end with each passing hour. His patriotic side told him that if Germany shall die; then he shall die with her. But his logical side told himself that he was a scientist, the knowledge in his head was irreplaceable.

He reasoned with himself that he would continue his work into Advanced Weapons Research to help the war effort so that he wouldn't feel like he was abandoning Germany. But if the situation grew too grim, he would travel the escape tunnel to Switzerland and take all his research with him.

He looked at his schedule above his desk and checked what was happening tomorrow.

His mood lightened when he read about the name of the next active project.

"Bergkanone"

Next I will go into the perspective of an Allied soldier for a "back-and-forth" type story.

Please comment on what you guys think!
