Seeing that numbers of postings are increasing here, I was thinking of a "little" contest of sorts.
Erich Brown at last count has only 10 to go to reach 1,000 postings (sorties) and at last--im not alone for more than 1,000.
Otto, is next then several others. Come on guys--its been a bit lonely up here at the top--need some more 1,000 sortiers.
Oh and Erich--now that your going to be "relaxing" for a few weeks, doesnt mean I give you permission to "beat" my tally.
Just joking--I hope to see you put a few hundred more to your tally.

I'm working on the 1000 sorties mark, but I think it will take some time. I never though anyone would beat me there, especially since this in my board! Well I guess I will share it with a few of you guys!
Friedrich, as prolific as you have been, you will be at the 1000 post target in no time.

Ah back from my out of town adventure (I went to San Antonio to do some looking for some militaria) All i found that was in decent condition or a decent price in ALL of the antique shope in San Antonio were: a mere War Merit Cross in Bronze, a COORS beercan with a picture of John Wayne on it--as the Cavalry Officer in: "Rio Grande" -- which is a favorite of mine.
Also, I found FOUR very nice woodcut prints (from different editions of "Harpers Weekly" paper--to go with the one I bought about 4 years ago. I have four woodcut prints dating from 1870-1871, of different Prussian Officers and scenes. Then I have one which is printed in 1883--another Imperial German theme.
And i almost forgot--I found a few American 12 and 14 place ribbon bars that were to an officer who also recieved the "Order of the British Empire" which is similar to our country's "Legion of Merit".
Got to see just a frontal view of The Alamo, as we had little time.
I almost forgot:
Friedrich--your doing well--possibly in 6 months you will pass me.
Erich is now the bearer of some of the glory--otto is next, and the rest of you aint far behind.

Yeah, yeah...
Mr. a million posts (who has nothing better to do) speaking... bla bla bla!
Just joking, Karl. Keep going! As we are not going to reach you, then you will have to contest with yourself and pass over the 6000! hehe!

Don't ever retire Carl-I think I'm not alone when I say that when we think of WW2 Network, we immediately think of Carl Evans first and foremost, followed by Otto, Peppy's avatars, and General Der Inf's outspoken ways.....NEVER EVER RETIRE....
