something of his.
Case in point:
I recently bought an 11 place Ribbon bar to a soldier who served in ww1 and ww2.
The 11 awards are as follows:
1) 1914 Iron Cross 2nd Class.
2) 1939 War Service Cross 2nd Class.
3) Saxon Albert Order Knights Cross 1st Class.
4) Lippe-Detmold War Merit Cross.
5) Bremen Hanseatic Cross.
6) ww1 War Cross of Honor (for frontline fighters)
7) 1897 Centenary Medal.
8) Prussian Crown Order 4th Class (for peacetime)
9) Wehrmacht 25 yr long service for Army.
10) Wehrmacht 12 yr long service for Navy.
(These were a replacement for this mans Imperial long service awards because he was recalled in ww2)
11) 1914-1918 Hungarian Commerative Medal.
Here is what this tells me about the man who earned the awards. This is also not knowing who this man is or was and I have no information on him except for owning his ribbon bar.
Story:
By the end of ww1, this man was no less than a Major, and possibly no more than an Oberstleutnant in the Imperial German Army.
After ww1 ended--there was a great demobilization going on and he was possibly demobilized as late as 1920--from military service.
As there are no Freikorps awards on this bar--it is very unlikely that he served in the Freikorps, but not impossible.
In ww2 (1939) he was apparently brought out of retirement as either an Oberstleutnant or an Oberst in the Army.
At that time--this man would have been in his 60's and possibly holding the rank of Oberst.
Info: Thanks to my Imperial Sensei: Richard J. Lundstrom (a reincarnated Imperial German Officer)
See what you can learn by owning something from a soldier.

Well, I had one of those, but if my memory doesn't fail, they don't have any boot... But certainly my BMW323i does have one. And I think two field marshalls can fit there... (but I will put there only one, I like Otto )

Are you saying that because of Otto? He is like a tree: tall and big!
I can't imagine you being a fat guy... But who knows...

Not that kind of weight... Perhaps you are like Göring; fat and with many awards!
