Gratulire, mein Fruend!!!!!!!!
You have just been awarded a Ritterkreuz des Eiserneskreuz mit Eichenlaub (ans swords?) I can't see them... But I guess there are some swords and diamonds!!!!
Indeed, congratulations! But we're still waiting those 10.000 posts...

Hello Friedrich, Carl, and everyone else.
Congrats Carl on the new award, you certainly deserve it! I'm still computerless, which is quite frustrating, but I'm getting a whole new setup. After you pass 1,000 posts you get a new one every subsequent 1000 posts. Carl should have had his earlier, but I have do update the moderator awards one by one, and I just noticed that Carl broke the 4,000 post barrier. Whereas the enlisted men/women are automated.
The only update I have right now is that there are no updates. None yet anyways! There will be some more Avatars, (hang in there Knight Templar), and a forum upgrade when I get my new home PC.

Hallo, Herr Feldmarschall!
We've all missed you! We hope everything is all right and to see you here more often soon, with your home PC.

Thank you, thank you. Now who was the onw who awarded the RK to me? Perhapse when It was another GFM when I was only a Generaloberst. The rest had to come from Der Fuhrer himself.
I hadnt seen the icon yet--but are looking forward to it after this posting.
PLus--Otto-glad your looking in on us--we were beginning to get grey hairs at worrying about our C-I-C.

Congrats, Carl - it looks very nice indeed.
I'm still happy with the DFC!
I'd quite like to be like Jimmy Tait, you know, DSO and three Bars. Now that's .

Thanks guys.
and Martin--your next will be a Hero of the Soviet Union. PzJgr--yours is the DFC.
I like the way things are turning out here--im not alone at the top (1,000) postings or more, and several members will be soon topping their 1,000th posting.
I can hardly wait to see what this place will look like in a year from now.

( I'd rather have a Bar to the DFC but I guess you can't argue with the Boss..... )

Well done Carl!
Here´s some sites for you as a present as well:
Waffen-SS troops were able to create ad-hoc, effective tactics to counter the material weight of Allied assaults. One of the more famous examples of the SS tactical innovation would be SS-Unterscharführer Remi Schrijnen's "Kopfstellung" (head position) in which a PAK antitank gun would be entrenched on a hillside.
Remi Schrijnen was a antitank gunner for the 27th SS Division Langemark who won the Knight's Cross for singlehandedly knocking out 7 (some accounts say 12) Soviet tanks during the Battle of Narva. Schrijnen's developed this unique tactic during his tour of duty on the Eastern Front. The benefits of the PAK Kopfstellung were:
Dug in at the crest of the hill made it diffult for Soviet tanks to spot the position or accurately estimate its distance
Firing from above negated the defelction effect of Soviet tank fire
The Zeltbann (triangular rain ponchos tacked down on the ground below the cannon) prevented tell-tale dust clouds

Anyway, congratulations to you!

Martin--someday in the future--Otto will have it set for everybody to have the decorations of choice. Make sure he knows that you would like a bar to your DFC.
Kai, many thanks my friend--and thank you for the gift-liks too. When I get back later today--im going through them. I have to leave for now to eat sem lunch.

C-I-C, I like that, I might just put that on my tag instead of a lowly Field Marshall.
Carl, I'm also quite happy with the number of postings going on around here, lots of quality interaction, and with only a little ruffled feathers here and there.
I'm looking forward to the next year too Carl. I emailed you about the likely developments a little while ago, it should prove interesting.
And Martin, sheesh! you really like that darn DFC don't you?
Thanks all for the warm welcomes and the links. They are all appreciated.

Otto, thats great!--Ill have to wait till tomorrow though, before I can check emails--the library is about to close for the day and it takes forever to get things to come up at this particular library.
Looking forward to seeing what im being briefed on.
PS, I think C-I-C is proper for your title--now to get some insignia and decorations for ya
Also, Gary will be trying to post more militaria photos here for all to see. If you can collect the images--and possibly have them for a militaria photo section--that would be cool.

Congrats too Carl ! That RK looks dandy there. Still wating for My DK in Gold Otto !!!!
Yes, and a militaria section for posted pics would be grand. I have a great problem with forgetting just what awrds look like so this would be quite helpful, and with many here collecting on a serious note am sure that they would love to send in their shots.

Thanks Erich--I appreciate that. The RK DOES add a bit more class to the collection. I wonder what Remy would say?
