What kind beer do you like, how much do you drink, how do you call it in your own language, ...

In Dutch it is: "pintje" [pintche]

Ha! Yes! WWII, music, and now beer! All my favorites have been covered except women, and we can't have a forum about my girlfiend!

Favorites - cheapo 40s-60s era american beers if you can still find them...Blatz, Schlitz, Hamms, Pabst Blue Ribbon. I grew up on that stuff.

My REAL favorite is called, and I"m not sure of the spelling cause if I actually spend the money on it I'm already drunk, is Franzenkanner? I just call it fat drunk monk. Has a picure of that on a gold label.

I also love Bittberger, which is just making it big here. Cheap and good.

How often do I drink it? Heh, about every day if I can. Depends on how much homework I have.

Not a beer drinker. Just liquor. Bourbon, Vodka, Schnapps, Brandy, anything that has liquor in it except beer. Am I still part of the club.

Any German bier......maybe once every two weeks. I cycle and mountain climb quite a bit so knowing that it is a great de-hydrator keeps me away often..... Rulps !

Maybe some beers that are pretty good:

Hoegaerden, Ciney, Chimay, Palm, Jupiler, Stella, Maes, Bolleke (De Koninck), Duvel, Rodenbach, Verboden Vrucht (Forbidden Fruit), Kwak, Safir, Primus, Belle-Vue, Christal, ...

Maybe some facts about Belgium:
117 active Brouweries, exporting 5.856.970 hectoliter of bieren and has 24.383 cafés.

I get drunk on a regular basis. In fact there are times when I pass out in the middle of class after having a fistfight with myself.

Favorite beer: cold
Favorite place: anywhere they dont card me
Role Model: Boris Yeltsin

I think I'll go have a shot right now...

Geez, I thought I smoked too much o' the ole wacky.

But a fistfight with oneself???
Dasreich, you win!

Boris Yeltsin- HA!!! You remind me of most of my friends from college!

Here's a shocker- Crazy almost never drinks. SO unfortunately, I can't comment on the beer thing much (though McEwans Scottish Ale is tasty).

Does anyone else on this entire forum smoke anything other than tobacco?

(I'm not really inetersted if you have a raging crack habit though...)

Finally you guys talk about something I love more than WWII!

I love my beloved city's typical beer: Kölsch. Nearly all are very good! I love the Bavarian beer, all the German beer, the Dutch one, the German one from Strasbourg , the Spanish is very good (well, any cold thing is quite good after you walked for hours under the Mediterranean sun...) and I am very lucky to live here in Mexico: Mexican beer is GREAT!!!!!!!!!!!!
Dark, clear, Victoria, whatever! I love beer!

I actually drink it everyday at lunch time!!!
You see, it is very sunny in here!

Beer, I drink occassionally, usually only socially and never during the day (makes me sleepy). But spirits, ahhh, I can drink any time. Schnapps and Scotch Whiskey are my favourites, though I don't mind a glass or two of Rum and Coke during the day as a pick me up. And a glass of wine over dinner is especially nice. White is my favourite although my doctor says I should have a glass of red wine once a day because it's good for my cholesterol. Isn't he a nice doctor.

Yes, Friedrich!! You hit it right on!! Kölsch is really really good!! Unfortunately you can't get it anywhere else but around Bonn and Köln so you'll all have to come here to taste it! Personal favourite brands are Früh and Reissdorf. The only downside of this beer is that you have to drink it quickly. The good side is - it comes in small glasses, so it's very easy to do so!!

Other (a bit more exotic) beers I really like: Tsingtao beer, the German beer from China. I think it must be the best beer east of Pilsen.

Any Vodka I drink comes directly from Moscow and has so far been excellent. Wish I could read the labels to tell you what it's called!

Question

I just remembered one of the Vodkas we had.. it was a commemorative Vodka to celebrate fifty years of victory over fascism.

Cool

HHmmmm, although I don't think I can find much of this around here, I wonder if you can order foreign beers over the internet some how?!?!?! Seems like the bottles would break before they got here, but maybe I'll have a look!

Well, here are our glorius beer directly from the Rhin:

Reissdorf Kölsch, founded in 1894 by Heinrich Reissdorf.

Dom-Kölsch

Früh, das Cölner Bier, founded by Peter Josef Früh (my favourite) in 1904.

Gaffel-Kölsch, popular place on Eigelsteinstraße 41...

Gilden, founded by family Greven in 1869

All of them are very good, but every enterprise loses a bit of quality when they grow too much. If you ever go to Cologne, visit the small, familiar beer-locals.

Ahh Beer...I am a big proponent of this stuff, I have been known to drink a pint or two in my day, and I have even been known to brew my own pints too. I must say the best beer I have ever samples is from a tiny little brewery in mid Ontario, Canada. It's called Creemore Springs. If you are ever in Canada be sure to try it. You won't be dissappointed.

Creemore Springs
