I even shot down 6 Tiger Mosquitos--they are of the twin engined type.
Fron a distance--it looks like the Eastern peoples war decoration 1st Class. In reality--I have no clue on its origin--and thank you Peppy-Otto

Looks like a Japanese decoration to me. Very distinct style, like the one that adorned many Japanese officers' uniforms-Tojo, Yamamoto etc.

Carl... all Mosquitoes are twin-engined. I am now beginning to doubt your 'claims' ; I hate to doubt the words of a veteran but in the heat of battle, well...things can become confusing, pilots can become over-excited ....
And then there is the effect of age on memory, which starts to play tricks....It's so difficult to maintain objectivity !

Hi Ryan--I knew it wasnt Eastern Peoples Decor--but from a distance--it looked like the decoration 1st Class.
Hi Martin--heh heh--ya have me there--maybe the single engined Mosquitos were really Japanese Zeros.
Peppy--love the new additions and other changes--two cents and all.

The PLM is one of the nicest out there indeed--but then again--so is the Order of the Zahringer Lion, the Lubeck Hanseatic Cross, the St. henry and countless others.

Thanks Otto
and Friedrich, i'm only waiting to see what my PLM will look like--actually before getting the PLM, I would rather have the Bavarian Military Merit Cross 4th Class w/ swords and Crown, before getting my PLM--it too is one of the most beautiful Imperial German awards--at least in my opinion--solid gold imperial eagles and a mid-to dark blue enammeling on the crosses arms. Someday i'll own one--Gary already does.
