I certainly don´t have time for other possible Forums-neither do I feel like any wish to do so.
And it´s funny sometimes how you can spend hours on finding and reading on this Forum...Well, every hobby has its prize.

You what I like about these Forums.
Apart from learning about things I never knew from you guys, I really love the quizzes (sp). I mean, trying to answer such questions as "how many Americans were in the SS?" etc. forces me to go searching for answers, and even though I might not find it (How many Americans were in the SS????) I usually find something else I didn't know. I love it!!
These are definitely the best Forums, with the best topics, and the best members.
Well done everyone!

Panzer, your off to join up soon aint yer???
Dont, on no account at any of the interviews...never never ever, burst into tears..
Its frowned upon, no matter how much the rest of society is trying to find its feminine side, its not something recruiters generally go for...Besides you wouldnt want us Brits to think weve found the lesser spotted WINGING aussie...
Remember, pink shirt and tie is out at interview, lean mean trained killer look is in.
Mind you even if you look like Rambo, if they are short of cooks they'll have you in as a catering assistant.....

Yep urgh, as soon as I get my letter telling me when my training day is, I'm there with bells on-would they appreciate that look?
The whole crying thing I will be fine with, I will get more angry than teary. I will probably wear the tight fitting polo to show off my muscles -NO WAY AM I WEARING A TIE!!!!
I can't wait to join-I'm looking at the Infantry, Armoured Cavalryman or the Light Horse Regiment (which is rather outdated now because they ride tanks!!!)
Let me get your opinion urgh-I asked awhile back if evryone thought it was a good idea if i volunteer to carry the squad MG. However-this would make me a target, and plus I would have to haul more pounds around!!!

Panzer...volunteer? volunteer???? Kai, Bish...hes going to volunteer for something...good god man, we never ever ever volunteer...ok we do but dont let everyone know...mg? maybe, but if its an inf squad youll eventually end up in support coy at some time, nowt wrong with that but it ends up as a specialist task or used too.
Listen to the snco's carefully.....If they ever have you on parade and in low voice say
right lads, I want 2 volunteers for a days fishin...
Dont fall for it...its too late when you find yourself and best mate in frogman suit, flippers, 60 kilos of military grade plastic explosive strapped to each leg and a gpmg and ammo strapped to your back...
a days fishin??? No son I said..
a dangerous mission....you must have misheard...
Nasty buggers these sergeants...

panzerknacker, go for the Light Horse, at least you won't do too much marching (yeah right), and if your nco walks into the barracks carrying a mop and bucket, whatever you do don't ask him what they're for !! You'll have just volunteered for some very unpleasant duty.
Dress smart, think smart, act dumb.
But really, have fun, and enjoy yourself.

Thanks for all the tips guys-I Fell for the volunteering thing once before when I was a Cadet. A Corporal asked us if we wanted another go on the obs course, so I eagerly put my arm up-only realising I just volunteered for cleaning duties!!!
Light Horse sounds good-I want Infantry or Cavalry for East Timor service though...

Panzer, i won't even bother telling you what i think you sould join. I think its pretty clear what i'd say
You soon learn when its a good idea to voluteer and when its not.
For example.Just before Xmas leave they were having a Warrior comanders course, for which they needed drivers. Now, never being one to miss the chance to drive, jumped at it. Then, the batalion wen on leave a week early, but the course went ahead. So i would have to work while the rest were on leave. But, because i had voluntered, i was told by my OC that i did not have to come back till a week after therest, in other wods, this coming Monday.
But, i only had to do two days driving. So, i worked for two days while the rest were on leave, but got a extra week off
So, theres a good time and a bad time to volunteer.
