Also what the heck is ICQ? I've heard of it but never looked much into it.

ICQ is an nifty little chat program that you can download EVEYWHERE: www.mirablis.com (the official site, I believe) or at www.download.com. It is free and basically it works like MSN messenger but without the security holes.
