Waaaay OT I know but:
V.Slav, actually yes, when Darwin was alive people did live more or less by the Bible, few actually believed in selective evolution and actaully the voyage of the beagle was the first time anyone had seriously investigated/provided substantial evidance for the theory. Whilst many didn't believe everything in the Bible totally, the establishment did hense he faced such great difficulties getting his work published and gaining credence among the scientific community.

To Otto Sorry I'll try not to do that again
To Andy
It does not really matter now who is controlling Germany if there is such a person. The only problem with Schroeder is that the unemployment rate in German is going up and look the German people still elected him. That would never work in the U.S, just ask Bush senior.
To Stefan
Bible in their hand? Ever heard of people in renaissance and the time when people started to believe something else because they were getting tired of pope. It's not the first time. The idea of Darwin worked well for him because it was during a perido of time when money were coming first and people only cared about them selfs.

Did you actually read my posts?
Schroeder was already toasted two months before election, because of his economic failures.
Bush's Iraq-war saved his ass. 60 years ago 8 million Germans died because of WWII, you win elections in germany if you're anti-war, not pro-war.
Cheers,

And probably ask Bush Jr. also in a few years. Because the economy of the US istn't so good anymore as it used to be.

That's why 51% will vote for Bush in the next election. That's more then in 2000 election
I guess people in Europe did not know that, since it was the French lying media that reported that 40% of Americans in the military are not U.S. born

V-slav, if you go to basic at Ft.Sill with the crusuder attitude you have now, they are going to grind you into the pavement before the first week is up. I'm not trying to be mean, just that I can see a bad ending coming to your army career before it even starts. Try alittle more tact and diplomicy to get your thoughts across to others.

We could use an old "conventional weapon"... like Debbie Does Dallas...

Close it, not delete, please.
I put some posting effort in here (getting the poll results etc.) and asked questions I never got an answer on, and all for nothing?
What did I wrong?
Cheers,

C :
Thanks my friend ! I await patiently....
I wish there was a way Andy and others, when a topic gets measeled and watered down that there would be a way to start another topic header and regroup some of the postings. I see some factual material in these many pages and yet alot of silly bickering which is just rabble off the top of our heads which needs to be radically thinned out. If left as is in a total thread the deleted items will leave gaps and subsquent postings will make no sense. The simplest answer is to delete the whole thing and start over under a new thread name.......I'll leave this as is for the time but my aging fingers are getting awfully close to the delete tab ! This was originally about V's anti-war protest and where has it gone.....all to shambles !

Looks like I missed out by only checking in on this thread once.
Urgh--I agree with you--one should be able to retort when needed.
Andy--I cant see that you did anything wrong. In fact--I was rather enjoying your postings. Its just that it looked like the whole thread was losing its focus--but--im pretty much staying out of this anthill.

</font>[/quote]Roll eyes all you like, if someone was talking rubbish about Tobruk, he would be pulled up, and should be. If you feel its ok to put up insinuations that are clearly untrue and then not be able to back them up when challenged then ok, that ok for you. Go past it.
Ive said before this is not the forum to discuss this stuff, but who keeps starting the topics on it...While they are started and while they are full of crap, they deserve to be challenged.
If Otto wants to call a halt to it fine, stop the crap on here by all means. But while its being posted it shouldnt go unchallenged.

Erich I would delete the lot.
But even if you do, doesnt stop it happening again, unless people stop posting the stuff in the first place.
In any forum, if your going to let a topic run then the originator of the thread is not entitled to express an opinion without being challenged.
Or is that not the way it is to be.
The problem lies with the starting of the thread in the first place.

Urgh :
I understand your points but I think this thread and others to the start of the Iraq situation have run amuck and have gone deep with our own personal feelings. Nothing wrong with venting in a good way, this just shows that we are human. There are no definates here and there is a bloody good chance there won't be for a very long time. The FFZ has become a place to post speculations. And if it continues then honestly there has to be disaggreements and challenges along the way. Just wanted to send a tone to all that we all need to get back to posting what is on topic and not give it a free for all shot for what it's worth with our full opinions.
I am leaving this for Otto to consider this evening. As my PC has not allowed me to delete even when Mr. K was amongst us, it is better for Otto to serve notice and delete as he seems fit.
So for now maybe we will just let this thread go barren.......and maybe reformualte our thoughts for another thread.
