Greetings to all -
At the risk of running afoul of the stewardship of the forum, which I promise, is not my intent, I just want to thank the membership of this forum for running such a friendly, informative, and welcoming ship to those such as myself who are new to it.
By this, I mean, I had considered joining another forum as well, which shall be name less for the moment as I am unsure if commenting directly towards it is allowable here, but all I see "over there", is fighting, back stabbing, grousing at each other, and basically, simple chaos.
I am most appreciative to see the friendly responsive, assisting efforts of those here who seem to sincerely wish to help out their fellow membership here in learning about World War II history from all aspects, and for that, I say, thank you. It is really nice to see this.
If I had acted upon my friends recommendation to join this other forum, I do truly believe it would not be long in coming until I would have to "jump ship" and leave.
Again, to Otto, and all others here, both those who have interacted with me, and those whom I hope will do so in the future, again, thank you very much for your hospitality. It seems that in today's world so many times appreciation of others acts go unpublished.
Most respectfully to all,
Bill

You should have joined a few months ago, That is when all the "good stuff" was flowing. Now the free fire zone is rather tame. But I am sure somebody will start a good post and war will break out again !

Maybe you could get the Queen to let me borrow one of hers.
Or better still , I know you love Lady Thacher, how about getting me one of hers.

I loved Maggie´s image in the Spitting image...
As she was sitting in a restaurant with the ministers the waitress asked what will she eat:
" A large bloody steak!"
the waitress:
" What about the vegetables?"
Maggie:
"They´ll have the same!"

Thanks Bill, I have spent time on a fair few forums and this is the only one I have stuck at for any length of time because it is interesting and friendly. Other forums just degenerate into constant arguments about nothing of importance but here things are different. The only problem I find is that it can be a little slow simply because of the number of people on it who are not in my time zone, then again nobody is perfect and we can't all live in the UK so I suppose it is ok

You're welcome, Bill!
You now how's the best way to thank all the people here? Posting some interesting threads which provoke interesting and nice arguements!

Hi my friend, and I do count my blessings that we have you here as well. I've been PM'd by a few from another forum that they too are getting tired of that place and might come here. I'm especially looking forward to having another friend from Holland posting here and I think you know him very well from the other forum.
As a matter of fact--another member of those forums just quit them today according to another friend who PM'd me today. Shame the way the other forum is going as there are many many fine people there.

Greetings once more -
Again thank you. Well, I'll go out just a bit further on the limb as I received an email last night from a dear friend of mine who is now on his way out of the "other forum", and mention that it has the initials of "WAF". I think some of you might know of which one I speak, but, I have to honestly tell you, I took a peek at it, and had to shut the door! My gosh, there's nothing there but enlarged ego's, bad attitudes, and absolute rubbish going on over there. I'll throw in with this lot and hope for the best!

Well, I just meant that we all will give them a warm welcome to the forums. That's all. What did YOU think I meant?

Yeah No.9, what did you think Freddy meant eh? I think he is onto something, how about an introductory forum wide group hug whenever a new member joins?

Thank you Bill for also getting another good person over here. Im trying to work on Rick L. but--I think that will take quite awhile. Im also trying to get Ben B here as well.
PS: My "subscription" ran out there and im not renewing. I talked st several people there and they are going to let their run out as well. I see no reason to waste $20-25.00 there JUST to have a priveledge of posting pics there. Otto does'nt charge one cent and everything is ouit of his pocket--tho im trying to convince him to let me help pay for the costs a bit.
Oh and our deal will be complete by next week--I haven't had time to go by the P.O. to get it to you.

Indeed, some hugs would be fine. That is WHAT I meant since the beginning... I don't know what nine was thinking about...
