Thanks Fried--I greatly appreciate this photograph.

I lived just a few miles from what is now NAS Kingsville for about 26 years of my life. I can still hear the roar of the Jet trainers flying hundreds of feet over my house.

I used to go behind the Navy base where I took this certain county road which took me to oneside of the Base the side where the aircraft took off.

Dont tell any of my Highschool teachers but--I more than once--ditched class in order to watch the TA4Js and the T2 Texans in flight. They now fly the Goshawks. NAS Kingsville was home to VT23 I think. Which has Training Wing Two I believe?

Now--I only live about 10 miles from NAS Corpus Christi NAS Kingsville is the Advanced Training facility and Corpus Christi is the begining of their flight training. There used to be another base in Beeville--which sadly closed and is now a series of stinking prisons.

Oh yes--I remember cruising NAS Kingsville many-a-times.

Thanks for the memory Fried I appreciate it.

I knew you were going to like it! Number one, it is a very beautiful photograph and number two, it was taken just at your own town!

Glad you liked it!

I do like it and appreciate it. I've seen so few wartime pics taken in my hometown and it feels great to see another.
