Otto since you have been working hard to get the forums up to snuff, may I ask a question from some years ago. At present we still have to copy and paste the url down for photos for this site in our text. Are you and the team working possibly on allowing us to use photo content through our private PC's without having to browse the internet ? have quite a bit of saved materials I would like to share but not have had time to open up a private web-site.

just curious.....maybe this is on the back burner.

Erich, two objections:

1 - What happens when you shut down your PC for the night? You'll be shutting all of us off...

2 - What you are saying would imply what might be a big increase on you in/out traffic, with all of us forum inhabitants browsing through your piccies inside your computer, besides God knows how many hackers, brrrr!

May I suggest an alternate course? Burn some CDs with your image collection and announce here that this is available for a nominal sum covering the actual CD cost plus postage on a padded envelope.

Za, I think it doesn't work that way… Erich is talking about attaching files, which later stay out in the web…

The only problem I see is that I would recquire MUCH more server space to save those attached files.

A lot of forums have a function which allows you to attatch images of a certain size (below 60k usually) to the end of an image, it is a very handy function and very easy to use.

I believe he is referring to the function some forums have which allows images to be uploaded onto the site in question without the member having to set up his own web site.

I see now, I was understanding E. was meaning a file sharing scheme.

What you suggest would imply a large storage system for this forums images, I think. Would that be feasible? The way things are done now you have your pics housed anywhere in the net and you just set up a link to the pic.
