Yesterday, at Pampelonnisia stadium, the national selection of Iraq beat Portugal in anOlympic soccer match 4 - 2!
Not that I like the news because Portugal lost —and I know here that Miguel would tell me something…—, but because we now see that Iraq is there, better than ever; the members of the team were smiling and fearless of defeat —now they won't be sent to jail if they lose…
They might not win a medal, but they show the optimism of the new Iraq.

Much that I don't like having the home boys losing - and a cold water shower is sometimes welcome!, it was a pleasure seeing Iraq back on its feet, at least on this particular scope but a step is a step. It's also good knowing Kabul's stadium is for sport again, not public executions.
How many more are there left?

Have to agree on the US basketball team though
Let Bobby Knight form a team of amateurs, thats the way to go

Gentlemen, you are getting way off-topic
Look at these numbers!
- Iraq 4-2 Portugal
- Morocco 1-2 Portugal
- Costa Rica 4-2 Portugal

Now that I brought this thread on track, we can derail again.

And to think some people want beach volley-ball banned from the olympics. The nerve!
