I see a fair few live acts in Sheffield, usually obscure indie/goth groups at various club nights. They are generally fairly rubbish, totally derivative and rather up themselves but they can be funny.

Last night Lenny Kravitz in Finland! Great show, lasted 2 1/2 hours, and the man was totally enthusiastic to make the people groove and he himself enjoyed the show! Excellent!

My youngest son and I saw "Creedence Clearwater Revisited" this past July at Pine Knob Music Theatre. Wow! What a concert! I haven't been to a live concert in over 20 years.
There were these two older ladies sitting directly in front of us, obviously CCR Fans from way back. They were eating brocolli, cauliflower, carrot sticks and Ranch Dip out of a small salad keeper.
I nudged my 16 year old son with an elbow and pointed at them saying quietly in his ear.
"Thirty years ago, they were probably doing hits of THC. or "Acid" washed down with shots of cheap wine. Now, they're more concerned with getting enough fibre in their diets so they'll have regular bowel movements. It's funny how things change with age."

My boss just took a bunch of clients to U2 - but that's about as close I got to it Apparently, a great show.

The Prodigy concert was good on Saturday, unfortunately today´s Killing Joke gig in Finland was cancelled last night (!). Hope KJ will come later this year as I´d really like to see them!

Just checking old Killing Joke records..." One song from 1990 was " Money is not our God!..I guess things have changed! I know that touring the Scandinavia might not be moneywise worthwhile but fanwise it would definitely be!!! And don´t they have enough money already??

Last Week Elton John concert which was great. The only thing I think he should have changed was that he did not start playing the "faster" songs until the last 30 minutes and it was only after "I´m still standing " that the crowd really got wild...
This Thursday more "ballads" with Ronnie James Dio...

Live on VHS cassette : Just bought from net auction "The Jam Live 1982 Trans Global Unity Express " and truly liked it. Actually great fun to buy the records and tapes you could not get back then and now you get them for almost nothing. Just too bad I had to wait this long...

Martin and ex-punk rocker? Kai just missing Killing Joke??
Excellent- I thought I was one of the few "Still-a-punk-rocker-despite-being-way-too-old-for-this-sh!t"
Recently saw Confront and The Ducky Boys, 2 local boston bands, in a great show.
I'm just crushed at the moment... tickets for the Dropkick Murphys *legendary* St. Patty's day show were sold out two weeks ago- in late decemeber!!!!
Looking at some ticket agencies, it's gonna be hard to justify $80 a pop for any show... even that one.
Anyone feel like getting ole' Crazy a present?

I'm desperately trying to get tickets for George Thorogood & the Destroyers in Glasgow in June. Missed 'em last time, and the tickets are like hen's teeth this time.........
Recently re-visited my old haunt The Jazz Bar in Edinburgh. No-one famous on the bill, but smooth, sublime jazz all night.........

Seems like old 80´s bands are running out of money. They never visited Finland the first time around!
1.3. Toto
6.3. Depeche Mode
Got tickets for the March shows but hoping to get ones for these ( should not be a problem )
2.4. Simple Minds
4.4. Morrissey

WoW! That takes me back, Kai! Simple Minds were here some time ago, but I missed them. Will have to look out for the other ones. Morrissey is on his own? Not with The Smiths???
Toto should be great!

On Monday in the Depeche Mode concert which was great as well! The new material in my opinion works well in the concerts.
---------
Guns´n roses should visit Finland this summer as well. We´ll see if they stay together that long...
