Czechs made Pilsner, before that it was dark stuff, before that the Vikings had mead.

Belgium leads Europe with most beer brands per capita. Czechlosovakia, ( before it split ), led Europe in consumption per capita, followed by Germany.

There is a theory about national characters as reflected in the bottom of a glass.
Wine-drinking countries thought great thoughts and lost their Empires in the afternoons, the Beer-drinking countries built great machines & the largest empires trying to hold them until all sense had gone, and the spirit-drinking countries? well they didn't get too much done but generally had more fun until the Tee-totallers revolted.
Cheers,
Adam.

Yes I must try those Erich, good cultural exchange sort of thing. I do like Harp lager from Ireland, & Fosters.
I once inhaled half a bottle of Paul Masson,( it was hot cause it was over the fridge, yuck!), & followed that with 2 glasses of seagrams VO, then topped it off with 7 tall Budweisers. That is likely my personal best, perhaps a record of sorts. I was about 17 & hadn't quite learned the "don't mix em" lesson. Later that night & certainly the next day though, I learned it quite well.

I like that opening photo chrome, a picture says a thousands words I guess.
I'm originally from Canada, and my favorite beer is a Canadian micro brew called Creemore Springs. They brew it in all copper containers, only small batches made weekly using a direct fire brewing method. I don't really understand the science, but I sure like the beer.

Now I did toss out more than I took in truth be told, so perhaps that is a disqualification of sorts, one has to keep in what one has inhaled sort of a rule. Perhaps someone has the rulebook at hand.

Spitfire's recent ad campaigns, some mild controversy from the pc crowd but passed by the advertising standards agency :
