Yep, these 2 guys had good chats about the war. & I really think Matt's design is award winning. All I recall before that in 50's movies were saucers & rocket shaped craft.

Thanks Stefan. I suppose they designed the Romulan Bird of Prey also. Much cooler than the Enterprise.

Scotty served at Normandy, & Bones at Roswell during the war. Scotty lost a finger. Some say from friendly fire. have no idea, seems a lot of confusion as to what he did in & after the war.
He did originate the idea that his character would be Scottish, the producers gave him cart blanche, just said they wanted someone with an accent of some sort.

Yes that is something about the show that was unique back in the mid 60's was they had a Russian, Scot, Japanese, Black woman, a Vulcan and on one show a midget.
Most of the shows back then were all white.

The original pilot had a female as 2nd in command, execs didn't like it. I recall a couple 50's sci fi flicks that had multinational crews. 1st spaceship to venus or something, but ya most of em were mostly white. Uhura was having her mail go missing. Apparently she was getting near what Shat & Nimoy got & someone felt uneasy about it or something. She was gonna quit, & Martin Luther talked her out of it.
