Default Spring Break

This Saturday i head off to Italia for Spring Break on a school-sponsored trip. $2000 for the entire week covers airfare, tour bus, accommodations, breakfast and dinner. So i only really have to pay for Lunch. I have been to Rome before (it was the end of my London-to-Rome Cycling trip i made 3 - 4 years ago) but the highlight of the trip (for me) is when we go to the Anzio Beach and Monte Cassino. I am not sure how much (if any) free time i will get at either place to wander around on my own (with the GF of course) but i will be sure to take lots of pictures!

If i do get free time to do such things, i was wondering if anyone had anything specific in mind i should try to capture on film? All with in walking distance of the main place of course. Like is there a particular area in Anzio i should try and get to?

We also get to hit up Pompeii - i'm pretty excited about that too! I'll definitely come back and post some pics from the trip!

Default Re: Spring Break

I'm green with envy Matt! There are museums and monuments at both locations. Anzio has a really impressive Commonwealth War Cemetery, if you are in the area you should definitely check it out. You could spend a week at Monte Cassino and not see everything, but the Abbey at Cassino comes to mind. It would be interesting to see the view from the top of Monte Cassino. Damn you are lucky, just remember to take lots of pics.

Cool Re: Spring Break

Sounds great, Mussolini ! I'd love to visit Anzio and Cassino.

Why don't you check out 'sommecourt's ( Paul Reed ) website at : -

- it may have some hints and tips as to how to get the most from your visit....
