What gets me is that if she is elected in both seats there would probably be a bye-election in one, costing the council tax payers at least £10,000.

Now, that really is a waste of local money - I bet the Mail doesn't report that bit.

Could be worse. When our distinguished prime minister gave up his lacklustre job after being kicked upstairs to top Bwana at the European Commission (Jose Barroso), he left in his stead a tv camera whore of an incompetent baboon who had never been elected to the post. The stink was so obvious and he helped things by botching his job in such an egregious way that the President couldn't stand the clamour anymore and had to dissolve parliament and call for an early general election. His party prestige was at such a high level that the opposition achieved an unprecedented absolute majority vote.
