If I was a WWII British or German veteran who had served in North Africa, last night/early this morning, sure would have been something to remind me of my service; at El Alamein!
What I am talking about is, the hellacious thunderstorms that moved through my area all night long. The flashes of lightning resembled the flashes from British artillery pieces (that I have seen numerous times in newsreels), during the opening barrages at El Alamein. The BOOMS of thunder must have also echoed the booms of shells exploding from said opening artillery barrage.
Wicked Texas Storms.
Most of you probably know that we had a bad threat of a Cat 5 Hurricane (Dean) that could have easily beared down on us (and were still not fully cleared from that threat) almost anything can happen in the next few days. Instead, this hurricane is supposedly going to drop to about a Cat 2 hurricane and hit somewhere deep in the Mexican Coast.
As of now, it looks like were not going to see anything in my area except for thunderstorms (thankfully) and I am wishing the folks who are in this storms path, all the best.
Anyway, last nights thunderstorms were totally awsome to watch. They had my Cats terrified and both cats tried to share the same space between my feet.
