RIP...Sam the Butcher.

Also, Suzanne Pleshette (Newhart's TV wife) died today.

Dang, thanks for the info, Gross. I was always fond of her appearance in the 70s. It made me want to watch Bob Newhart even more.

According to her online obits...she died of lung cancer after being a heavy smoker most of her life. I also didn't know that she married Tom Poston a few years ago and he died last year. They first met 40 years ago and then reunited and married late in life. He was a good comedic actor also.
The finale of the Newhart Show with Bob and Suzanne lying in bed and him saying he just had a crazy dream about running an Inn was classic. One of the best series endings IMHO.

I liked Tom Poston, he was very funny in a low key way.

The ending of Newhart was comic genius, one of the high points in American TV comedy.

I remember Sam the Butcher-he was Alice's boyfriend on The Brady Brats. Also, I remember him in Gomer Pyle, and a few episodes of The Andy Griffith Show. He was very good at his craft. Same goes for Pleshette and Top Poston. I remember them on more than one TV series respectively. May they all Rest in Peace.

And this year is still in its infantcy.
