Not semi-retirement, hermitage rather.

Re: 2008 election
hey wait I used to live there Za !!, seriously it looks like a little kids place ground with cardboard walls but these spots rise at will out of the ground in the Himalyas and even in the mid-east, literally in the middle of nowhere. When I was in Jordan in the deep sands traveling, even we would just counter a rise and boom......wha is this ?, and not even on the silly maps. the upper semi dug in barn in the pic looks precarious enough, wonder if they have had winter avalanches knocking on their door.
hey Fried welcome back ......

Re: 2008 election
IMHO, Obama's the only one who has the ability to restore the country's standing with the rest of the world.
That said... I'll be voting (by absentee ballot for HI, my legal state of residence) Green, to ensure that my state keeps the Greens on out future ballots, cuz I already know which direction my state delegates will swing, so my popular vote isn't needed for the BIpartisan game.

Ah the Greens! The "Watermelon" party. You know, Green on the outside, RED on the inside!

Ahhh.... Paiea Maui land of the common Moon Bat, known to be fond of the common weed.....must be nice not to have any financial cares with that trust fund
Standing in the world according to who? Who are you trying to please and why? America is the most generous nation on earth it would be nice for somebody to remember that and you should love George Bush, he is a classic Liberal Republican, spends like a Democrat and lets criminals invade our country. You should be happy with the next President John McAmnesty who is basically a Democrat. If you feel guilty with all that money you have, I will galdy take a check, since I am going to have the crap taxed out of me for the next who knows how many years.

No trust fund -- and no $600,000 home, either -- I live in the poor section, on two acres, with a value of about $40,000, that I purchased for $14,000 a little over 10 years ago. And the reason why I'm traveling is because I can live in Mexico (or other places) for less money than I spend on groceries, in Hawai'i -- which means that I don't have to work, work, work just to pay bills.

I'm not trying to please anyone.... I just happen to believe that the US should be a participant of the world rather than the childish bully playing King of the Hill.

Re: 2008 election
You're welcome 'babs. Aside from that, $14K for land in Florida? Watch out guys, someone has a swamp for sale! But, much like the one "King" in Monty Pyton's Holy Grail I can build castle after castle on it for you cheap until one doesn't sink or burn and then sink into that swamp.

Sorry, guess I was unclear: the two acres are in Hawai'i, not Florida. And thanks for the offer to build me a castle, but I built a modest home -- by myself, with the help of a couple of friends whose homes I helped build

The ghettoes of Hawai'i
That's OK, I like Obama too. Sadly if he does win I don't think his life span will be too long. Some fool will try and shoot him.
