Re: 2008 election
Yeah. I don't follow politics or anything of that crap.
Personally, I think you should have to be between the ages of 30 and 50 to even be nominated for President. Too many of these politicians are a few years from their death beds and are really out of touch with the majority of Americans and what their ideals are. *shrug* I won't be voting, in either case.
As I was telling my German Buddies from my HOI MP game, the US is not ready for a Black President or a Woman - a lot of those people who voted for Bush would not vote for either.

Re: 2008 election
About this close !---! from crying. What is wrong with America??????? Its not over yet all we have to do is WAKE UP and see who McCain is? I know it is a long shot, but.... Look at it. Everyone is fed up with the stupid games played in the government (or am I wrong). Yet all of the top vote getters are long time Washington beurocrats. Yeah Obama is the newest there but honestly, you think McCain or Clinton will change anything? Sigh....

I would if the candidate were Western Slobobian, if they support my ideals. In the 2000 Republican Presidential Primary, I voted for Alan Keyes. And to kill two birds with one stone, I'd vote for Condi Rice. The (main) problem with both The Witch of Endor (thanks Erich) and Ears Obama is that they are socialists and I do not support socialism.

Re: 2008 election
Thatīs just me comparing the situation : Bush won for the same reason, and because there is enough people voting for no major change, no woman or black man can win either now. Thatsīmy guess.

Re: 2008 election
A few predictions:
The Democrat convention will look like Stalingrad and have about as many survivors. I suspect though that Stalinist Hillary will win in the end much as her predicessor did in WW 2.
The likely ticket will be Hillary and somebody other than Obama as VP. The alternative is Obama and somebody other than Hillary as VP but I ain't holding my breath on that one.
On the Republican side it looks like McCain with Huckabee as VP. This gives them a centrist with an acceptable Rightist evangelical Christian as a running mate.
I also predict that the Republicans will squeek out a win resulting in the Democrats villifying McCain worse than they did Bush.

Re: 2008 election
Romney has dropped out. Well there goes a Repulican White House for 2008. Well, maybe not yet. McCain is good but is too late. His age is his largest handicap. He needs to really sell what he will do for the American People but that has not happened yet. He spends too much time defending his record and not enough to tell me what he will do for me. Should I pack my bags for Mexico.
Then again, what do the dems have to offer? It's anybody's guess I suppose

Re: 2008 election
Are there any countries in the world with a decent climate/no PC madness/an OK government/no French People? Cos If there is, I'm off!
PS-Sorry to any French people, but I have had bad experiences in France. A guy pretending to be a tramp picking on innocent tourists! Shoulda seen the look on his face when I said, en Anglais, that he was a...no, better not say it. Well, you should have seen my mate desperately trying to communicate with this Con Artist. Makes you laugh afterwards, but at the time it's just annoying.
Bah! He even ordered food in French! Should have used his native tongue and angrily pointing at the items he wanted. Never like speaking to foreigners who don't speak English. Or even have an accent. Well thats just me. Bah Humbug!

I ain't stupid. Of course he will. Hillary will get it when hell freezes over. It is just a scary thought though. We need solid leadership and are not getting it. I just hope McCain does not mess it up and hand the white house to Hill.
