Re: Hells Angels Tried to Kill Mick Jagger
I think it was at Altamont(?) or Woodstock that the Stones actually hired the Angels to provide crowd control.hahaha. In some old footage you can see a black guy pull a pistol out after he'd been harassed by some Angels. The black dude is promptly stabbed to death. I think that incident had something to do with the Angels wanting to off Mick.

Re: Hells Angels Tried to Kill Mick Jagger
I've known a few HA over time, and the distaste for the Stones as part of a kind of 'cultural memory' of Altamont is not uncommon.
Cheers,
Adam.

Re: Hells Angels Tried to Kill Mick Jagger
V.P.- What is your take on the HA? Started out as a bunch af ex US military black sheep? Are they really ex military , or are they now just plain outlaws?

Re: Hells Angels Tried to Kill Mick Jagger
The only substantial ex-military aspect was probably the Originals. The organisation and it's affiliates (& enemies), has morphed into something altogether 'different' since then, though the clannishness and self-defined rank system certainly has parallels with military structures
Interesting group covering a huge spectrum of different types. Frightening in some ways, even in friendship, but definitely always to be approached somewhat circumspectly if you're not one of the tribe, and with the utmost respect for their own peculiar customs. Many sound men and women to be encountered... but I wouldn't want to cross a single one of 'em, or even recommend approaching with a chirpy 'hello' and no introduction .
Cheers,
Adam.

Re: Hells Angels Tried to Kill Mick Jagger
The bikers here make the news often. Still the wild west I am afraid. Not quite as violent here as say Montreal or Quebec City. It's all about drugs, gambling, hookers and booze now. Maybe things haven't changed much at all. Thanks VP. I'll be looking for your posts.

To suggest that the 303rd BG(H) tried to kill Mick Jagger is an outrageous slur.....

Re: Hells Angels Tried to Kill Mick Jagger
During my career with the CF Military Police, I investigated a number of cases where the Angels were involved in trying to steal military weapons from CF armouries. They are NOT a harmless recreational motorcycle club. They ARE a type of organised crime network.
The Canadian Hells are the largest part of the international Angels network, and they control most of the prostitution and drug dealing in the major cities here. They also work with many of the "ethnic gangs " to sell them drugs and to provide muscle and short term loans.
Most modern Angels only ride their bikes on "ceremonial occassions " like funerals of club members, and the annual summer run. They have been infiltrated so many times that some chapters had as many as 5 percent of the membership were paid police informants. No honour among thieves , eh ?

Re: Hells Angels Tried to Kill Mick Jagger
Since the thread began with a murder plot I don't think anyone was suggesting the HA were exactly harmless CC .
The Canadian side in particular are well known for their excesses.

Funnily enough Martin, it's often said that their name was taken from that very unit when the 'club' formed in '48.
Cheers,
Adam.
