Happy Canada day, eh. Looong weekend for me , yeehaw!...Just want to express my content with living in one of the best countries around....Except the tax's....And maybe the winters....BUT not the beer. The beer is great...Hot chicks too.But a lot of fat ones , now that I think about it... But I ain't no spring chicken either, so....Don't get me wrong, I mean, I could still get action if I tried but...

Poppy, you started out with a good sentiment, but definitely had it take a wrong turn on the last half!!
Yes, for me it is also a long weekend. I am very proud of where I live - possibly occasionally annoyingly so! In my case, as I heard on the news the other day - based on the economy - if Saskatchewan was a country its current economy would rank it 5th in the world!
My Dad's family has been in Canada since before Confederation in 1867. My Dad used to say since the Plains of Abraham and that there were also Loyalist connections. My own research has only taken me back to 1831 so far.
Most of all I am proud that I live in a democracy that tries to help others both within and without our borders. I only hope that in our efforts to keep our country safe we never give up the freedoms which others gave their lives to preserve. It's our ideals that make us a great country in which to live.

I agree wholeheartedly Michelle! Canada is a great country, it honestly doesn't get enough credit, and often from Canadians. I'll be spending early July here is Chicago to celebrate both Canada (July 1) and the U.S. of A. (July 4).
