I love visiting this site...I don't know why I've become interested in the aerial aspects of WWII since I have no interest in flying a plane or even really riding one. I love watching planes and this site has great photos.

Rosebud's WWI and Early Aviation Image Archive

One of my favorite songs is named after the 101st Airborne Division "The Screaming Eagles." (started in 1942) 101st Airborne Division (United States) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
I found a mug with the logo at the local surplus store and even considered getting a tattoo on my arm of it with a German eagle since I am part German but didn't know if that would be contradictory.

    Thanks!
I think my fascination with this site was because it was one of the first big collections of photos I could find of the era, especially in such great condition! Glad you like it!

I hadn't seen all of the photos, this being one of those...that plane is gorgeous! And you're right, that guy doesn't even look like he belongs there, you'd most likely think, "Gee, he's sure nosy!"

Wow there are so many wonderful photo's on that site! I especially love looking at old planes, although just as the original poster I have no desire to fly them or ride in them. I think it is the look of the planes that I love, such as this one: Kondor Taube. It's a beautiful plane and the picture is wonderful. Thanks for sharing the site!

That is a very cool image archive you found RoxyMoron! Great job there. I also love looking at old planes from the world wars. I once saw a great documentary on history channel of WWI dogfights. Forgot what it was called but they had great footage.

I have been back to this site on a few occasions and found it very interesting, some of the pictures are of top quality for their age? Or is this done in photoshop or other programmes, still they are excellent photos.

As one of the most famous pilots of WW2, I guess the Red Baron knew he fulfilled his duties well and was content with it in the end!
