Hi All, What do you think about the movies of war doing? I think they are doing a good job of spreading the bravery of war heros and to let the world know how did they fought and a glimpse of how it feels to have steel in your chest. I am fan of all kinds of war movies, my heart fills with deep respect for the war heros. Had it not been movies, then the common people wouldn't have come to know many things about the war. I feel these movies are doing a great job and they should be encouraged. Zerzis
Hello zerzis, i am all for the making of movies to help spread the stories of these brave Soldiers, as long as they tell it as it was... :thumb:
movies help I also think that the movie is the one who spreads the bravery and the good acts that those war veterans are doing. Without the movies most of us wouldn’t know about the history because some people don’t like reading history books.
I agree with this. I think that Saving Private Ryan and Windtalkers show some graphic scenes that help us see the reality of war. On the other hand, I remember reading that many young men went to Vietnam with a sort of sanitized, glorified image of John Wayne as a soldier that certainly didn't prepare them for the reality of war. And as for telling it like it was, If I'm not mistaken I think that the movie U-571 took some liberties with the facts regarding who captured the Enigma coding machine.
Saving Private Ryan showed us some of the brutalities, but in a way that still allowed for substance and truth. I think this is necessary so that people don't downplay the seriousness of war.
