I'm gonna try to post a picture of this helmet. Just bought it and would like to learn more about it. Seems to have an extra rivit under the emblem. Any info will be helpful. helmet.jpg

Hey Rick, i am 99% certain that this helmet is a Austrian M16 transitional single decal helmet from WW1. (H025865 Stahlhelm M16) :ponder:

If it has two decals on it then it is an Austrian M16 double decal transitional helmet. (H017767 Stahlhelm M16) ;)

    Thank You.

Very Cool. It does have two decals. Are these rare? I paid $150 I hope it wasn't to much.

Hi mate, the price depends on the condition of the helmet, if the interior tanned leather liner is intact this puts more ££'s to the price. The better the condition the higher the dealers will bid....

It looks a nice investment BTW ... :thumb:

Having a chin strap (Original) will boost the value of the helmet. I would say $150 is a very good price if there is no insides, if you have the webbing and chin strap it is worth well over $1000.

No webbing or chin strap but the ring af material to mount it to is there. also the decal on the other side is not the same and barely visible features, appears to be a stripe running through from top left to bottom right. I'll try to get a picture so it showes up. also a small stamp on the inside with a lady on it.

upon closer inspection it appears to be a paratrooper decal. Would that be correct on this type of helmet? It is so faded it is hard to tell. It could even be SS decal. I will try to shine different lights on it to try to make it out. Need to get a blacklight.

Hey Rick, this helmet should have these decals on it. The Wehrmacht eagle decal and the national tri-color shield decal. :thumb:
