I have gotten 5 pictures of Hitler from a garage sale. They are of Hitler on what appears to be an inspection tour of some facility. These are previously unknown and not copies. Is there any interest in these? Should I keep them?

    Thanks Mike

Hi Mike, one thing to take into consideration on photos of Hitler is--that there are millions and millions of images of him out there. I have a number in my collection too. They are not super valuable and originals can fetch anywhere from about $10-to-depending on who or where he is at at the time? or whats going on? might go up to about $35 or so. Heinrich Hoffmann PK Press Photos of him with news tickers on the back--might fetch about $35-$50--depending on subject matter. Now if you get one with him awarding Close Combat Clasps in Gold--or Oak Leaves Swords and Diamonds to the Knights Cross--those will be the ones fetching the most and these will sell in excess of $300-$400 per.

I have a series of original color photos of Hitler conduction an inspection tour on the Bismarck. Those too will also fetch a few hundred per photo and more because of a sizable collection.

Post them here if you can? and ill be glad to give you more info on them and perhaps a better value and opinion. Sight unseen--I cant be certain of anything.:thumb:

    Hitler Pics

This past Sept my wife & I did a road trip around the Pacific NW . One Sunday we came through a small town in southern Washington and saw a garage sale at a home that was also for sale. We stopped and I picked up a small photo album that looked old. I offered $20 for it and the elderly woman there said I may not want it as there were some 'objectionable' pictures on the last 3 pages. I looked and saw they were these of Hitler. I asked her if she knew the history of them. She said they were taken by the old farmer that lived in the house that was for sale. She said he was 96 when he passed away and his wife had lived there till recently when she went into an assisted living facility. The old man, she explained was a member of Hitlers retinue and took the pics ...all except one! The one where there is a X on the soldier in the pic. That was supposedly him , he had asked another officer to get him in a picture with Hitler. Thus the x on the pic . After the war he came to the USA and became a citizen. Moved sometime to the S Central area of Washington State and farmed wheat till his death about 5 years ago. That's about it.

Wow, talk about being in the right place at the right time Mike, that was surely a good catch. Also it is nice to know a story about such images. 96 is a good age also. :thumb:

    Hitler Pics

My interest in the pics are the vehicles. I restore VW Things which came from the German Kublewagen. I'm always on the lookout for pics of those so when I saw the vehicle in the pics I knew it was something unusual because Hitler had a couple of Mercedes plus this six wheel personnel carrier.

Hi Mike, these look like Hitler Postcards. One thing to consider on them is that they printed those in the dozens of millions which is partly how Hitler made so much money--same thing with postage stamps, books etc.

Hitler postcards are about $15-$20 each. These are some nice shots though :thumb:

Nice score for the Hitler grouping. :thumb: Ill try to post my Hitler HH PK press photo soon. It shows him with Major Helmut Wick just after he presented him with his Oak Leaves to his Knights Cross. Hitler did this at the Berghof and they are standing outside one of the main structures.

    Hitler Pics

Historybuff1944..........The pics were glued down on blue album paper. I took a sharp knife and got one of them off....YES you are correct they appear to be postcards. This is why forums like these on specific subjects are so valuable. Good info and help to find little known issues. I only took one off and on the back it reads something like VOLAGANDER. I wonder if it's best to leave the rest on the album sheets or take them off? Opinion??? Thanks for the info, appreciate it.
