I think they would have wanted to. Nothing would have made the total defeat of the Nazis clearer. Of course there would have been a number of steps along the way where someone might have been tempted to do have delivered some less judicial justice.

I'd like to think they would throw him out there for all the world to see. But the alternative was one that Churchill was adamant on. I can't imagine giving AH another stage for his rhetoric. Look at how Goering and Hess (among others) behaved. I'm sure the chief would have loved to spit all over the front row.

By that point I suspect he would have been reduced to incoherent ranting. My understanding was that his connection to reality was becoming somewhat tenuous during the latter part of the war.

If they executed him without a trial there's a chance that he could have been viewed as a martyr by some. That's something that could have caused problems during post-war allied occupation in Germany.

Hard to say, the executed Japanese are still viewed by some as martyrs, and that is with a trial.

Hitler is still viewed by some as a martyr even though he lost his war an committed suicide.

Halder, in his diaries stated that Hitler stopped making rational decisions sometime in 1942.

True. I imagine it would be much worse though if the Allies merely executed him without a trial. The Nazis were known to execute people without a trial and if the Allied troops came in and did the same thing, particularly to Hitler, it may have made relations with post-war German citizens during the occupation very difficult.

Do you think THAT would create any More Resistance than the fact they were "suddenly" attacked by Several Million troops with Tanks, Bombers, Fighter Planes, Machine Guns, Flame Throwers, 88mm by the dozens, and stuff like surrounding and imprisoning the entire city of Leningrad.?
Assuming no recent, past hatred for The Soviets.......If i were a Russian citizen of Any Type, i think i would have thought The German Army was there to wipe us out anyway.
I am not sure the treatment of Allied POW in The Pacific was ever much of a propaganda point when compared to the "Sneak Attack" at Pearl Harbor, and all of the Yellow Rat, Slant-Eyed Bastard, type of indoctrination that went on. I am only guessing, but i would think the POW thing paled when compared to other "stuff".?

I think you're correct. If you read the Tusa's Nuremberg Trials, killing the leadership of the Nazis was debated. Ultimately, a trial seemed a better way to go. While a trial might have given Hitler a platform to spew his ideas, the fact that he and others were tried in an open court with members of all nations was paramount.
