A interesting story that should be told in its proper forum here and has no real impact on the discussion at hand on this thread.

Guess the apple doesn't fall too far from the tree. I'm proud of how I was raised by two veterans. Mom was a hoot and told some stories of her Stateside heroics as a SPAR against the injustice of that time.

Again, Stories about your mom's service have a place here and should be told in the forums where people who would be looking for them are likely to find them.

@wooley12 , do you doubt there are people who's balls need a good crushing? I can think of at least a dozen off the top of my head, three of them are women.

Don't get it twisted, this is a WWII site. Out of hundreds, this is the one shitty sub-forum where we dump all the conspiracy theories and political talk. Currently this is the shittiest thread in that shitty sub-forum. I notice you've taken to posting here exclusively.

I guess I cannot expect much from someone proud of their terrorist upbringing. Utterly disgraceful. :D

    Hi Brian,

If you could go back in time to Nazi Germany in 1938 and were able to crush Hitler's ball, would you not do so? If ever a ball needed crushing it's that one.

If you could work on your quote skill that would be helpful too. As it stands you've made it look like I put that jumble of thoughts together. I don't want a single person to miss-understand my bold and courageous position re. ball crushing.

I'm guilty of starting the ball-crushing fiasco, not O.M.A. My point, which may have been poorly articulated, was that since several of the cell were in Libyan hands, why not delay extradition until the Libyans crush a few balls and get a few answers before bringing them back to the UK where ball-crushing is considered impolite. As for the usual 'torture doesn't work' stuff, that is only partially true. If you have several comrades all getting their balls crushed and unable to exchange stories, you have merely to exchange notes on matching answers. The stories that match are likely true, those that don't match are doubtful.

AND, in this situation where it was feared additional bombs might go off, quick answers might well have prevented more dead children. The Brits were able to round up most of the group before any more damage was done, so it worked out as well as we might have hoped, but it could have been very different.

And if we forgot about our ideals and tossed the Constitution and our Fatherland, I mean Homeland, Security crushed your balls because someone pointed to you, you would be ok with that? Your sacrifice for Homeland security. Can't happen here? See McCarthy hearings.

So would your feel ok if your balls were crushed in the name of security? Would you by fine to have your constitutionally guaranteed freedoms taken away as they are under martial law.

A WWII D-Day vet still walks every day in my town.We talk. He told me that the second wave was worse because "we were wading through a soup of body parts". He told me that as an MP in Occupied Japan he loved to smack people that gave him trouble with a sock that had 3 bars of soap in it. He gave it a name but I can't recall it. He said that when he was a Chicago cop in the 50's he would get info by smacking the suspect or witness up the side of the head with a phone book to get them to cooperate. Should we be OK with that. A man that did it isn't. We are all garritroopers here.

I would fully expect my balls to get crushed in any Arab country, merely on an accusation of wrongdoing. The Constitution doesn't apply in Tripoli.

I'll go right past the members of our intelligence community who believe that "torture doesn't work to get GOOD intel". So our American ideals only are good in America? Not Tripoli, Germany, France or England? I don't want to put words in your mouth.

I can only point to the situation I mentioned in the post above. If you have two members of a cell getting their balls crushed and the answers elicited don't match, then you're likely just getting babble to end the torture. If the names, places, dates do match, then you're likely getting the truth.

I like to think I am as humane as the next guy, and far more constitutional-minded than most. Yet, part of me also thinks that some people (child murders) are not human, and not entitled to the same rules that we accord to actual human beings. In this case, evidence suggested there were two bombs and thus imminent danger of more children being murdered. I don't know, and you don't know, how much ball-crushing (or similar unpleasantness) the Libyans are inflicting on the two terrorists in their custody. I suspect British security has and is acting on any information being elicited by those methods. They'd be fools not to use that information, and they are not fools. They can give them a lawyer (and an ice bag) once the Libyans have turned them over to British custody.

Situational. When my BFF buddy shot the 3 pow's in Nam in the head, he told me that he was doing what someone had to do given the situation. He knew it was wrong. It should have been done by another member of the squad. They needed to teach a lesson to the enemy. He was willing to put his life/career on the line for the situation that he was in. I'm good with that. There are still people that feel "I regret that I have but one life to give for my country"

They knew about those guys in advance. They probably have another 1000 "names". When do you think the ball crushing should start? Before or after an attack?

One begins to wonder if every person you have ever known or met was either a war criminal or psychopath. .

Maybe the hammer would come in handy if they were attacked by a ruthless gang of roofing nails I guess. If an armed someone was to hold up another unarmed someone, and the unarmed someone produced a claw hammer, the armed someone would probably laugh himself to death. It would definitely affect his shot group.

Possible some sort of protection would be needed and recommended for travelling IN Memphis, but between Memphis and Nashville is no more dangerous than any other part of the rural countryside. Of course there are crazy people everywhere, and bad things can happen, but I don't think that the road between those two towns are particularly extra dangerous. Haven't read or heard very much about Nashville being terribly dangerous either. Certainly nothing like Memphis, New Orleans, Chicago, DC, Detroit....

I started to carry a BFH when I was driving a landscape dump truck around Seattle after a BMW took offense at my driving and blocked the off ramp we had just entered. Stuck his hand out the window and waved for me to approach. I just sat there till he took off.

Why give these monsters pleasure by inflicting pain, what happened to that old fashioned method of just putting a bullet in the back of the head.

OMA On quoting, let me think now,no better things to do. Maybe you could reflect before posting such insensitive comments.

WOW! All I was talking about was some minor ball crushing, and in this case, just one ball. You went straight to summary execution? I think you just lost the moral high ground.

In case you or anyone else is missing the obvious, my comments about ball crushing were in jest. I thought the fact that I proposed several women for this anti-testicular treatment might give that away, but I guess not. So I'll be clear here: I have always been a strong opponent of non-voluntary testicular compression in all its forms, (be they male or female).

As for your poor quoting skillz, I was saying that from a technical perspective you did it wrong. You quoted my post, then inserted your text into my quote, effectively making it look I said the the things in that quote. Could a mod correct this?
