Very informative, Care to expand your opinion? Please enlighten us. They seemed to have lost quite a bit in that time period. WW I and WW II come to mind. Didn't seem to work out that well both those times.

You, sir, are what is known as a self-appointed armchair expert.(Und eine Schadenfreude, Und Dumbkopf, tauschen auch.). Probably still live at home with Mum (Hence the didactic tone coupled with disdain for the poster). What you perhaps wish is to be a recognized authority; however, the construction of your reply shows a lack of familiarity with scholarly, gentlemanly debate.

Don't despair, I recommend reading Aristotle's 'the art of rhetoric', as well as a simple guide to argumentation and avoiding simple logical fallacies: Thou shalt not commit logical fallacies
Keep trying to treat others with courtesy, dignity, and respect, the cornerstone of any fruitful discourse. Because it's safe to assume you don't have any friends, You could try message boards.

    Good luck!

You, sir, have obviously zero skills as an academic, given your atrocious disdain and self-righteous reply.

That leaves a Schadenfreude, mit Kleine Freunde. I recommend you study works on argumentation, rhetoric including a link here to help you on your way to avoiding committing logical fallacies: Thou shalt not commit logical fallacies

    Viel Gluck Dumbkopf!

You might want to consider following your own advice. Certainly I saw nothing in the post you quoted that deserved such a response. Then when you consider the post was made 12 years ago by a poster that hasn't posted in the last couple of years and that you did nothing to support your position makes me wonder just what your agenda is.

    *** edit for ***
It's not clear even who and what you are addressing in the following:
However I think you will find that content free insults will not gain you much in the way of a positive reputation on this board.

You sir, need to come up with a new way to start your posts.

What an odd entry to the site. Waking up a thread that's almost 9 years old. Insulting people based upon their logical fallacies rather than content. Then you add: "the construction of your reply shows a lack of familiarity with scholarly, gentlemanly debate." Odd.
