I can understand what you are saying...but I use these terms regularly - see there I go again!
Nothng is absolute and there are exceptions to everything...so stating anything as absolute, one is already incorrect.

 

So, is that absolutely true?

 

As I said, there are exceptions to everything..."absolute zero"?

 

That would be an absolute generally.

 

Did you know that the way it's defined mathematically there are negative Kelvin temperatures?

Here is the lastest update on my Grandfather´s service, if it interests you.

From 17 Aug. 44 to 22 Sept. 44 - CoA, 36th Armd. Inf. Reg. Left unit as “Non-Combat casualty“. Assigned as 745 Rifleman.

From 25 Sept. 44 to 2 Dec. 44 - at 195th Gen. Hospital, APO 562

Dec. 44 to March 45 - MP unit at Camp Lucky Strike, perhaps part of 89th Inf. Div. (It was at this MP unit that it was noticed that my grandfather had worked in Military Supply BEFORE being drafted, and knew many supply numbers and processes by memory.)

March 45 until discharge 2 Dec. 45 - 4301st Depot Supply Squadron, assigned as 835 Supply Clerk. At first, stationed at Laon, FR, Advanced Landing Ground "A-70 Laon-Couvron". At some point, this unit moved to Erding, Ger. until the end of the war.

I have been not been able to dig up any information about the Depot Supply Squadron. I have learned that the Airfield in Laon, FR was under the 9th Army Air Force. I have not been able to find anything about the support units stationed there.

As encouraged in previous posts, I have contacted the AFHRA Records about this unit. We have also requested a copy of Hi service records. We are still waiting on both. Hopefully one of these resouces will turn up something.

If anyone has further input or ideas, they would be welcomed.
