The stump is exactly where it should be. Sad to say this isn't even close to the oddest thing politicians do and say regularly.

I see that it was moved. I must have posted in the wrong sub forum. My apologies Otto.

    How dare you!

No worries. You dropped it into the Free Fire Zone, and not the Stump. I just kicked the thread an extra step down the stairs into the Stump as that was where you wanted it.

Just unbelievable. Well, no, NOT unbelievable, just depressing and disgusting. 20-25 years ago a creature like this would hardly have dared to raise his head from beneath the rock he dwelt under, much less seek the nomination of a major and supposedly responsible political party.

I am hoping this is just a blip on the radar and he will limp to the horizon. Who knows though? I am sure some bigoted, homophobic faction will follow him somewhere.

I suppose you've noticed that we don't have too much in the way responsible major political parties these days. Both of them feel free to make up their facts as they go along and the Republicans, I'm sorry to say, are the worse of the two in this regard.

As a lifelong Republican, I am amazed and appalled, sadly not for the first time lately, and doubtless not the last.

I maintain my Republican registration to vote against fools like this in the primaries. I wish I could hear someone in my party say something that isn't stupid.

In my state (Wyoming) you'd have (almost) no input on who governed you. 85% of the races are decided in the Republican primary.

Wouldn't help. The guy in question ran as an Independent for Massachusetts Governor in 2014. He is not (at present) the Republican nominee, he's only qualified to run in the primary against the incumbent Republican Governor. There is no political party in the US that doesn't have its fair share of idiots.

If parties are to be truly representative, idiots must be present...or an "idiot party" will form to compete...sounds a little silly but the fact that Trump is president today says a lot about the under represented idiot.
Most people don't necessarily want change, they want to be heard...IMO
