Walking Stick Russia 1943

    I guess I would categorized this piece from my collection as "Trench Art". It is dated 1943 Russia with a Serpent carved around the entire cane. There is also an Iron Cross and the Wehrmacht Eagle at the top. Definitely a lot of wear and tear and just one of those personnel items that I enjoy collecting

    I haven't bought a walking stick in 30 years. I keep the ones I have in trash cans, large trash cans.

    I thought I replied to this already but who knows.

    Anyway, good looking piece. I knew guys who liked to whittle just to have something to do. Sitting in a hootch with nothing to do until you're too tired to stay awake, that generates creativity. Or poker games.

    Mostly poker games.
