    No changes have been made on our end lwd. It's possible a different computer/device or screen size would impact what is displayed to you, but if you haven't changed anything either, I can't imagine what is different.

    User error. It's labeled "new posts" for some reason I thought it was labeled "unread messages". Obviously a short or intermediate term memory problem on my part.

    I like it.

    So many technical issues to addtess before I can consider regular content features. I'm still living out of boxes in an apartment. Unfortunately, no serious input can occur until I have a dedicated home office. For now I'm focused on my two kids and work.

    Both 2F and 2T need to go to Xenforo 2.0, the WW2Zone database needs imported, and WW2.org needs upgrades and attention. Not to mention the proper advert & donation system that needs installed.

    As far as videos go, hopefully I can start making my own once I get settled in Texas. His site has facilitated my introduction to some great contacts over the years, and I've a few great ideas for videos.

    All in good time.

    many times using the phone, will click on a member which brings up their cover page(?). we can click on the users page , or just below it- unfollow.
    with this tiny screen, it's like heart surgery trying to not unfollow. ..has been close a few times, possibly even a few casualties.
    recommend moving the unfollow away from users page request.

    The mobile layout is indeed a problem, one of many generated by this skin. The good news is that I just got off the phone with our hosting company, we've rented a new dedicated server. This will allow a migration to XenForo 2, which will change the mobile layout. Any layout edits are on hold until the migration, as we may need to redo them all anyways.

    As always, I appreciate the feedback. Generally I don't know about potential problems until someone puts their hand up and let's me know.

    XF2 is quite different, but appears to be a positive evolution of the software. I'm also going to be much more selective about themes for the site. The current 'skin' is nice, but ruined the functionality.

    I do like the color scheme of what we've got - sets it apart from those other places I've frequented. I like the simplistic look...no fancy backgrounds etc.

    I agree, its a great look, but there is no recent post menu option, new alert number display is hit or miss depending on platform, and mobile is garbage.

    I'd focus on this but its not worth the effort and confusion since it will only change shortly anyways.

    Next time with XF2, we are still going to have a good theme, but not at the cost of function.

    ??? I see a recent post button right next to the new post button. Or are we talking about different things? Both are very useful IMO although I tend to use the new post option the most.

    The main problem is that it is platform dependent, mobile is different from and iPad, and different from a PC. Streamlining is critical, and XF2 will do this.

    I can see how customizing and or having to trouble shoot each platform could be a real pain. Since I tend to use Windows only and usually the same browser a lot of issues go right over my head.

    Let me preface this suggestion with the observation that I'm an ignorant, armchair historian......strike that...'armchair reader'. While my interest is keen, my brain ain't. So take my suggestion for what it's worth....

    I'd like to see a sub-forum for the Second Sino-Japanese War 1937-1945 in the Theaters of the Second World War forum.

    There is no question in my mind that WW II started in July 1937 (if not before). If the First World War touched the lives of people around the world, the Second World War did so even more.

    I'm shamefully ignorant about the war in China, so I would have next to nothing to offer at this point. However, I'd like to encourage other knowledgable people to help fill out this significant part of the Second World War. (So, quite selfishly, I can learn more about it.) I don't think this site can be complete without a section dedicated to this massive theatre.
