Recently I have been really struggling to find movies I really enjoy. I have grown tired of horror movies, zombie movies etc. for now. Normally those would be my go to genres but as of late I find myself turning them off because I get bored of them. With that said, I have recently discovered the world of WW2 movies and I am HOOKED. I think I have found a new favourite genre. The history and the stories pull me in and have my full attention for the entire duration. I am just wondering, what are the best WW2 movies to check out and are there any hidden gems out there that are must sees? Thank you in advance. *Edited by Otto to remove spammy links.
A Bridge Too Far is the best of them all. Everything else must be measured by how close they can come to that epic work. .
Agreed, A Bridge too Far is epic! I just got a new copy on BlueRay, but haven't watched it yet. Lengthy old film, so I need to find some time.
"I've selected you to lead us, not only because of your outstanding fighting ability...but in the event you are captured they would assume by your attire that you're a wretched peasant and immediately send you on your way."
Classic! I think in the movie that is Horrocks giving Vandeleur a 'pep talk'? Edward Fox is great in that role, and Caine gives a delightful performance, too.
