I didn't realize how important coaches were in professional sports until a season a decade or two ago. One of the NBA teams (Seattle I think) had a loosing record (by a considerable margin as I recall) at the midway point in the season when they switched coaches and ended well above the 50% mark. From what I recall the head coach was the only significant change (I don't follow basketball either so could be off here). What backstory? I would guess that there are dozens and possibly hundreds of uncomplimentary names for Trump all with some backstory. Not sure why anyone would really care that much though. It wasn't greyness in the words it was the fact that it was irrelevant to the topic at hand. I find that unlikely, indeed I wouldn't be surprised to see him out of office before 2019 is over.
Ok this has gone on long enough...for you Americans...Loose is what you do to an arrow....LOSE is when you’ve lost something...ok feel better now...
Don't think Foles will ever have to pay for a beer in Philly for the rest of his life...unless he signs with a AFC team that wallops Philly in another Superbowl Until now He has been your traditional journeyman QB and it true that sometimes going to the right team/coach/[scheme can make all the difference. Not sure what contract he signed last year, but if a one year I do doubt Philly could match a best offer from another team. He might decide to stay for less money in the hope of more rings, but when a guy maxes out the money side on another team and has a ring they will go almost anywhere if more money is out there and I couldn't blame them too much.
With Superbowl MVP on his resume, I don't think Foles wants to be a backup to a franchise QB, the chances are very good he moves on. He could go to the Jags, if Blake doesn't turn out they have Foles, or he could go to Cleveland in hopes of being a starter or bridge QB, or anywhere really, as a starter or backup.
Bortelles made a great leap forward last year and the core of their team seems to be defense and power running so I am unsure they will want to change QB's now. Unless Cleveland is offering a boat load of cash in a guaranteed contract and he is ready for obscurity that comes from playing for a cellar dwelling team he should use call block on anything from the Browns. He might consider a team with a ageing QB as their backup.
I doubt he will choose a franchise without clear knowledge of their offensive scheme. He has already been though the dregs, so I think Cleveland is a no go. Then again, if the money is right and in the end he doesn't have a no trade clause in his contract. He is pretty much stuck with Philly's decision. The Eagles at the moment do not have much cap room so if they can free up more money, icon or not, it's bon voyage. Personally, if he is accepting of a backup role, I'd like to see him stay for myriad reasons.
It's hard to say where he'll go, I merely put those option on there to show that he could truthfully go anywhere. I think Belasar has a good point, I think Foles will be this years Mike Glennon, a QB nobody is really sure on, a team takes him so he can fill the void, only then to bring in someone else, or draft somebody.
Your both probably right...its a shame because he was amazing in the playoffs. He deserves better than the business side of it. It's the reality though.
Thankfully he has reached the ultimate goal of professional football, the Superbowl, and won, not to mention he was the MVP of that game, so even if his career winds down from here, he has done something only 53 teams have ever done, and only 53 humans have earned, Superbowl MVP. That sounds great too me, and it sounds like he has a post NFL career path in ministry, and what seems to me like a great family too.
My bet is Foles will return. The team isn't sure Wentz will be ready opening day, so if Foles stays, there's no reason to rush him. Roseman is very creative with the cap so I'm sure something will be worked out. Being the Superbowl MVP gives him some leverage but the Eagles control him for one more year. We'll see. It will be an interesting off-season.
It definitely will. Certainly looking forward to the off-season moves of the Super Bowl Champion Philadelphia Eagles. I haven't gotten used to saying it yet. Lol.
You never get used to saying it when it's your team that wins it all . I wasn't alive for the first two Broncos Superbowls with Elway at the helm, so Superbowl 50 was magical for me.....
ha ha...winning. the tds is strong with w12. came to comment about sb 54, and caught this gem turning into a diamond. lol. go chief's. i want to know how mr peanut died.
The NFL draft event is set to be held from April 23-25, 2020 in Las Vegas, but with the city having essentially closed down due to coronavirus and mandates having been issued to temporarily ban gatherings of more than 50 people -- a mandate issued by the Center for Disease Control -- the NFL canceled public fan events, but not the draft itself. It appears it will still go on as scheduled, but instead will be conducted from inside of a television studio of some sort, per Sam Farmer of the LA Times, and not in Vegas at all. The location of the studio is yet unknown at this time..stay tuned for more updates from the NFL.
I thought maybe with all of the craziness going on with not being able to work the first payment for my season tickets would be delayed a bit. Well I was wrong. First payment was right on time …..and they did say Thank you! I guess the show must go on
Well until the new season starts here are some pics of my NFL man cave...I'm a Seahawks fan but followed the NFL since the 60's.
Looks like some old school items. Had to close one eye on your cowboys item (eagles fan) Great Joe Willie jersey!!! What's the connection with the Buccaneers?
