    Old guy checking in. 4 mile hike yesterday to get out. I'd say foot/bike traffic is up 50%. I see new posted signs. Forests and parking lots are closed so fewer place for people to hike.

    Seasonal flu deaths are 0.1% of those infected, with the worst case 1918 Spanish Flu being estimated at 2%. With Coronavirus 2019, to much is unknown to provide a bonafide answer. Various credible sources vary between a low of 1.4% to a high of 3.4%.(again, the data is very much incomplete, thus the wide range of "best guesses."

    Yep..1500 or so a fortnight per person to employers to keep staff on...billions on the unemployed, their sum has doubled. Some semi freezing of rents, house and business, on bank loans...everyone has been asked to shoulder some hurt, from the renter to the banks.
    6 month ban on evictions...

    We get $1200 each.$500 for each child. 50% of the poorest will get nothing. For the people who earn over $100,000 they will get ..........

    I've purchased a large hat in case the experts are wrong and coronas are actually falling from the sky. I've added a vintage 1910(ish) Coast Guard hat device on it so that people will know I'm a trained killer from a small elite military force and stay away. In keeping with full preparedness I've checked the zero on the Hoyt-Clagwell Avenger, Mark II, in case the hat device doesn't scare people into keeping proper social distance.

    My son suggested that I put hundreds of sharp spikes through 400' garden hose and lay it down near likely points of attack. I'd rather be dead. But like my daughter told me in her wisdom "I am not you and you are not me."

    @KodiakBeer : That's a great hat.
    @wooley12 : good call on the garden hose; there are better uses.

    Both my wife and I have "essential" jobs in the health field, so at least we do have paychecks coming in..which is good and bad considering it's like playing Russian roulette everyday..are we going to get it today???..tomorrow??? or next week???..scary times..well back to Captain Morgan to fight off those germs.

    I've sewn up a dozen masks for the local hospital. They are masks designed to help preserve the actually useful N95 masks that are now in short supply.

    Sewn up a few more for family members, too.

    So far I’ve lost 6 pounds while on quarantine, and logged about 100 miles a day on my motorbike since my lawnmower is in the shop.

    There’s always an upside to everything.
