..for SH4, I was just downloading and installing a lot of mods for better graphics/etc..I lost my CD..I think I'll get it again
Have you joined SUBSIM? SUBSIM Radio Room Forums - www.subsim.com Submarine games, reviews, forums, books, naval news tons and tons of mods there PS. Don't forget to get JSGME(JoneSoft Generic Mod Enabler) and use that to install your MODs. Makes it much easier to swap out mods and use several mods at once.
Would love to see a WWI sub sim come out..other day was playing Silent Hunter: Commanders Edition from 1996 on my old Pentium 100 IBM...lots of memories.
I dunno...slugging along just a few knots...seeing a convoy but not having the fish to sink them...slow reload, small or no deck gun...a bit frustrating...except for the purests.
....many years ago.......yes, now I remember that JSGME .....a lot of these WW2 games are weak....the mods make them a lot better ..like I said somewhere else, the best WW2 game I ever played was a free mod called Forgotten Hope...it was a Battlefield 2 mod .....it was great ....I lost my SH4 CD...I might get it again ..I remember Microsoft Combat Flight Sim....it was ok, but FLightSim had a ton of mods-missions/iarcraft/scenery...carriers which you could land on/etc
I'm not much into sub simulations myself. However there is a surface mod for Atlantic Fleet that is very good IMO. The best part is the Battle of the Atlantic Campaign that is a sandbox game. You can buy ships and deploy them considering weather, trade routes, supply locations, air cover etc. I'd recommend it.
I mean you "buy" them at your shipyards using the credit points you get by sinking enemy ships. Yes, I'm talking about the turn based game, the PC version. But I generally play the surface mod because the vanilla game is too "sub-centered". You may get a look at the mod here: Surface fleet mod :: Atlantic Fleet General Discussions
