I guess there is a good chance to find a gene sequence (s) to calculate your chance. Then again, you might not want to know it. I recall a document on Huntington disease and many of the children of a father or mother who had it, did not want to know. I definitely can understand that.

 

Hope the medication starts working better. So far I only saw situations that slowed the progress of the disease and the medical side effects were pretty nasty. With Az the age is not the major factor, you can have it when youŕe quite young,too.

For drugs that target other therapy areas, the likelihood of a drug being brought from phase one trials through to market is 15.3%, however, for Alzheimer’s drugs this drops to 7.3%. But with nearly 10 million new cases every year – that’s one every 3 seconds – dementia is already a public health priority, and with cases set to triple and reach 152 million by 20502, drugs to treat Alzheimer’s disease are critical.

 

Watched twelve o'clock high one of my favorite war time movies not sure why, guess it has to be the B17s one of my favorite bombers. The movie reminded me of how construction has changed so much over the years. How so much work back then would be illegal now like exposed cables. Like the way wwii ships were constructed. Modern ships have cable trays and ducting or equipment passages were cables were just straped along passage ways or ceiling pretty wild it was a time saver and cheaper, I'm sure back then money saving and time saving was a more pressing issue when they were trying to build up the navy to have a over powering force. I still think it's amazing how fast we were building ships. A carrier normally took five years to build based on a five day work week eight hour shifts. During the war they ere working around the clock seven days they built most of the new carriers in a year several were laid and launched in less than a year. I also have to say it's something to see those old pics of women doing a lot of the construction women welder so and steel workers I was in construction for over twenty years and rarely saw any women in actual construction most were either in management or looked like a truck driver. However there was a few hot lookers but very few. I remember when I was in apprenticeship class we had one gal in the class all the guys were hoping she'd make it thru just because she was a rarity. Unfortunately she dropped out about halfway thru the session we just never saw her anymore. Class started with like thirty people finished with like ten. I think when I was in the union guys were more dedicated in their classes. It was also mandatory if you didn't go to your classes I think they had ways to keep you from making your pay advances. Anyway the movie is one of my favs and Gregory Peck is one of my favorite actors as well. I think one of the things about the movie is the b17 I think it's amazing how many made it back with serious battle damage like almost no tail engines shot out. One had so much flake damage if I remember that after it landed the plane to a direct hit to the fuselage around the waist gunners position, after landing the fuselage couldn't take anymore stress and just snapped and folded. Another crazy one was a plane was hit and dropped on top of another. The two planes were locked together. The pilots order their crews to bail the bottom plane was the one keeping both in the air the pilot decided to stay with his plane and some how made an emergency landing. Like the drag effects of both planes had to be crazy. The ground crews had to been kept ragged the amount of battle damage they say the planes would comeback with and the amount of missions long range ones too. Having to maintain all those engines and patch up aircraft I think that pic showing how the took a late war all natural finish and took an early war tail section with the early olive drab camo and mated them to make a complete plane. I really think the ground crews really did a lot to support the war effort. Keeping planes in the air and piecing wrecks to make serviceable aircraft. Although I have to question that story about that 17 that came back alone with no crew. They say a British airbase reported a b17 that landed at there field with no crew. Supposedly the reported they sighted the plane comming in lined up to the runway dropped its gear and made a great emergency landing but when emergency ground crews got on board they found no one on board. Sounds just too crazy to be real. Like even if the plane was running out of fuel the supposed probability of just happened to run out at the right time to more or less dead stick onto a runway is too far fetched. Like that c47 the crew bailed they ran out of fuel and the plane glided down and skidded on a farm field totally intact they were able to repair some minor damage refuel and fly it back out. The Germans recovered a number of wrecked aircraft and repaired them, the craziest was that 24 that went down nose first crushed everything up to the wings looks nuts the impact killed everyone aboard but the plane remained mostly intact. The Germans salvaged it and with other crashed parts made it flyable, just seems insane that it remained that intact when I first saw the photos I thought maybe it was staged. Anyway the 17 was an amazing plane built to take a beating and keep flying.

 

Looked a while ago a document women flying bombers to Europe just like men. They were as I recall as good as men doing it. Why not? Thank You!!

It's been over four weeks since my orthopedic ordered a type of leg brace that's supposed to help stretch my hamstrings back out and get my legs to extended full straight. The medical supply finally fully approved everything and I go in on December seventh for measurements and fitting. Then week or two for them to make it then back in for fitting and instructions on how to use them. I'm actually looking forward to seeing how this will go though they say it will be uncomfortable and a bit painful, they gave me some horse pills for the pain. Wow these things are huge 800 mg ibuprofen. Wow never knew they made them that big, had a couple of gf that had back injuries and were taking the 500s. Anyway I can't wait for this process to be over and see how the braces work hope I'm at least on one leg by January. Been watching stuff on m4uhd like dune when it was still in theatres and some 2021 tv shows and ghost busters after life. After life was kind of funny you can see the silloette of someone's head well the top of their head their hair looked like a punk hair doo. I've heard of people sneaking in video recorders to a movie and record it for making pirate discs back when they were popular told my niece to stop wasting her money on them they were like twenty bucks and lots of DVDs sales were about that or less plus a lot of the pirate stuff was terrible quality. Some pirates were employees at the theatres and set up video equipment behind the screen kinda interesting behind the screen the room is totally full of huge sound equipment and you can see the picture but everything is reversed. YouTube use to and still does get lots of pirated downloads and it's funny to see stuff like that on there the scenes all reversed and all print backwards. Like why even bother. Then that stupid thing about digital moves being hacked and stolen. I still think that stupid thing on that movie the dictator was just a publicity stunt. Like seriously who'd want to steal that movie, I've still haven't been able to get thru more than half the movie. I'm not sure how m4uhd gets away with the shows they have. I'm sure at some point they'll get hit with suits just like past streaming sites. YouTube use to have just about everything but had to delete a lot of stuff or now has links to pay sites for copywrite protected content. Hope everyone has a great holiday planned looks like we don't have anything planned again this year just a quite small family dinner not our usual extended family gathering fourth to fifty people the big dinner with roast and or fried turkey and ham sometimes a rib roast executive potatoes, rice sometimes Japanese sushi rice, broccoli casserole and more, pumpkin pie etc. maybe next year the covid has really put a damper on things even with restrictions lifted they say things are still no where back to normal and till the covid is controlled they say it could take months or years to get back. They say the airline industry lots so much money billions like fifty billion this year alone. Could take till 2025 till they fully recover and back in the black. Wonder if Boeing will get back on their feet. One thing maybe they need a new chair board and management staff. Ones that don't make really dumb decisions like trying to cut corners that cause the deaths of hundreds of passengers that I'm sure Boeing had to pay out the bulk of the insurance payouts. After a crash the party that is given the bulk of the blame covers the bulk of the settlements. Since the investigation and faa have both put the blame on Boeing they've had to cover most of the costs the loss of the planes the payouts to families and lost of revenue to the airlines if they have had any losses as a result. Seems really stupid like what did they save, nothing and the costs have been far more. They should fire all the idiots involved that thought they were pulling something smart but showed how really dump and useless they really are. They say test pilots reported problems from the start but they were able to handle the malfunction because they knew the plane better than most pilots in commercial service. They say if they pilots had advance notice and training they might have been able to save their planes but that's not supported by the NTSB, who said the second plane to crash battled the system repeatedly they just couldn't keep up with the repeated malfunctions. Airbus has had glitches of their own a lot to do with automation issues causing complete loss of a few aircraft but mostly causing injury. I was surprised that so any people were injured as I thought for years now they have always warned people about wearing their seat belts at all times at least the time I've flown I remember them saying for your safety keep your belt on at all times. Guess people get lax on long flights it was one of those long flights to Australia but still you'd think the cabin attendants would have reminded people of the safety rules one person killed over a hundred injured. They called it turbulence but it proved to be the automation the computer got corrupted information and thought the plane was going into stall a protection program engaged but rather than a slight down nose attitude the plane went into a dive throwing passengers and flight crew to the ceiling causing both serious and fatal injuries. Airbus reprogrammed the system to prevent future accidents but how could they let that happen in the first place. They were criticized for knowing that could happen and had happened repeatedly but in most cases nothing serious happened till then. They did not put in their flight manual and they only posted a general memo to the airlines about it and not a special type of notice that goes to the pilots. Airbus has been pushing the automation for years to the point that several companies complained that the pilots didn't have full control of the plane the automation took over. A crew barely avoided crashing because the automation takes over once the landing gear touches down but there nothing in the book that says that the pilots managed to save their planes and only found out after questioning Airbus as to why they had trouble with the controls Airbus was cited by the safety board for not training pilots about the automation feature and not even mentioning it in the flight manual which I think Airbus agreed to update. I still don't care what they say automation fails all the time that's why they still have pilots are they trying to make it to where they only need one in the cockpit now they use to have the captain, the first officer, then the engineer, navigator, and radio man. First to go was the radio guy when the radios got more advanced and smaller, they after computer systems the engineer and navigator were gone the computer monitors all fight controls and navigation. They say if that plus sun flare back in 2012 had hit the earth most satellites and power grids would have been knocked out. Planes would have been back to manual control most airbuses are not very fly able by manual alone that 380 barely made it to Australia using manual controls the pilot was awarded an award for smart thinking and saving his plane and all passengers the guy remember the Indian crash where they lost all hydraulic controls and used engine thrust to control the plane he was able to steer the plane using the throttle controls but had no control of the reverses, the spoilers I think only partial control of the flaps. It was a mess he got it lined up the plane hit the runway far over the speed they should have and practically burned out his brake system. Lol,makes me think about that guy got a brand new Toyota pick up a new model a semi list its brakes and was running wild he gets in front and slows the guy down enough he able to turn on to one of those sand brakes the guy totally wrecked his braking system but I'm still tsure the trucking company was happy to pay for it saving their truck and cargo. Toyota jumped on the story and for a short time had a commercial of their pick up saving a semi truck but I think in the commercial they go as far as the pick up stopping the truck and driving off unscathed, which is not what really happened. I remember seeing those truck braking sidings and wondered how often they checked the water barrels to make sure they were full of water and what. We have too many stupid people if they can shoot at road signs dummies what's to keep them from shooting at a big yellow barrel. Anyway I wonder how often they check them and what. I remember some guy said they need dg for their driveway cal trans was doing road work and had piles of it at the road site just off the shoulder the guy went over one night with a semi and rock hauler and a loader and loaded up a load of dog. Another time caltrans was giving away a material the call grind, it's what's left when they grind off the top of the asphalt roads pretty kewl stuff they press it on the drive and when it gets really hot the asphalt get a bit soft and sticks better and soon it's like you got and asphalt drive or road my fried got some for his drive cheaper than dg, but they spread it but don't even it or pack it down, we had to even it out with shovels and drive on ear the high parts to keep it from forming ruts. In all it was kewl stuff I liked it better than the dg. I bet when they were blasting the eight interstate they were probably giving gravel away they say they used huge amounts of dynamite to blast the road bed thru the mountains. Road making has advanced a lot new types of cheap explosives and road bringing machines.

Watched dogfights and greatest tank battles on a number of sites, YouTube spectrum, prime, history channel. Also watched forbidden planet it's odd the ship lands and only two legs extend down but later there's three wonder if some malfunction with the prop, like films have always had lots of them, like r2d2 had constant break downs, and stargate had lots of break downs with that sarcophagus not raising and not opening they say the actor was stuck inside for a few hours while technicians tried to get it working. Hope the guy wasn't cloister phobic. I think some day I'd like to get the polar models kit of it some day I have an old vacuform kit of the Jupiter 2 aka Gemini 12, the day the earth stood still 1950s ship, war of the worlds and possibly a vac of the C57D but the plastic kit from what I've seen looks really good. Watched the original lost in space pilot, the ship is called the Gemini 12 and there's no doctor smith. The guy who designed the robot for lost in space also did Robby for forbidden planet. Robby was up to that point the most expensive prop ever built 125,000 I'm sure that's been surpassed by now. The Astro control on the lost in space craft looks very similar to the one on the C57D space cruiser, and the drive looks similar too a round extension with opac panels with a rotating light. I hope the history channel does more of their tank and dogfight series or more naval battles.

 

been drooling over all the new 1/144 from Japan I don't have yet. They did a js3 I was building my own think I'll just finish it since I'm pretty close. The also did a centurion mk1, and a chi ri, I think I'd love to get that set, also a m3 lee with a t38 and panzer IV E. Love to just get the m3 lee, There a number of kikkas mostly resin, like to get the plastic F toy one either a couple or rework it a bit and cast a copy and make it with the wings folded. Read they made it with folding wings so the could roll them in and out of tunnel shelters. They had build simple level hard ground runways and hundreds of tunnels for guns planes etc. bunches of concrete ramps for launching the orka. They figured they were going to lose but they wanted to make sure the US would pay dearly for it. Good thing we didn't have to go thru with the invasion. It would probably been horrific. The Japanese figured they could inflict a million casualties but pay with two million dead on their side. That would have been just devastating to both sides. I know a lot of people say we never should have dropped the bomb but many Japanese say they were working on their own bomb and would have drop theirs on America if they had gotten their chance. I wonder if that six engined super bomber they were building was built with the idea that it would carry the bomb. Like noway the Betty the biggest they had at the time was going to get up with one. One of the reasons the soviets stole and copied our b29. The Feds knew they would copy it but thought it would take at least ten years or more and were surprised it took three but it took the whole soviet aircraft industry to do it over 500 manufacturers. And they could not duplicate the landing gear and tires they sent agents to America and bought gear and tires from surplus yards. Pretty stupid back then we just let anyone buy stuff and ship it out of the country now we check more and parts we don't want to end up in the wrong hands we shred like the f14s most were shredded because we knew Iranian agents were trying to secure parts for their planes. I've heard it's sparked a new aircraft industry there, they are building copies of needed parts and developing there own plane based on the old f5, looks a lot like the f5. I don't see it becoming a dominate fighter as there are so many planes out there that are better. Now if they started making copies of the f4 and made significant mods that would be an achievement for them but their aerospace industry is really young who knows what they might be at in ten years if they keep funding progress. I got a Egyptian madding ak47 copy wow what a piece of junk I swear the top looked like some used a rasp file on it it was so rough and coarse. Resold that thing for what I paid a hundred bucks. The Middle East lacks major industry and over the years have tried to start all kinds. Iraq started all kinds of industry to try to support their war efforts but not sure how that went, they made copies of aks too and plated them with a gold like finish. Troops love to get them our troops as collectors items seen pics of troops showing them off and stacks of them captured still in packing plastic. Also they did modify their old t55s and t59s on their own but had little effect the coalition forces knocked them out like nothing the Abrams took hits and had no effective damage the shots were just too weak. I bet the Russians have better ammunition and they say the Iraqis were so low on ammo they were shooting practice rounds as that was all they had. Guess saddam hid too much money and didn't buy enough munitions or used it up somewhere else.
