Newb question: How do i increase RESOURCE production?
1.yea so basically, with more resources, i can obviously increase my nation's power faster without limitations. So how do i do so? Like for example, im playing as china, and its some regions aren't producing any ENERGY at all, how can i increase energy production.
energy, oil, metal, rare materials
2. Could someone explain to me the IC thing. xxx/xxx/xxx
thanks alot, this is the only place i can post this basically. I tried googling for walkthroughs or guidelines but there aren't any.

You can't... Resources like energy, metal and rare materials are produced in your provinces and are only needed to keep your factories running. So, as long as your stockpile of any of these three resources is not depleted, your IC runs at full potential (Ministers/Tech/Peacetime/Partisans have an effect too). You can increase the output slightly by researching the Machine Tools tech, though... And it also increases the effective IC output...

xxx/yyy/zzz, where xxx stands for wasted IC, yyy the effective IC and zzz the base IC. Base IC is the total number of factories, effective IC is the current capacity of your industry (modified by ministers, technology, partisans, peacetime, random events...) and the wasted IC is the capacity not used at the moment (for example IC allocated to reinforcements while none are needed).
I hope I explained well...

Trade only when your industry consumes more resources than your provinces produce. Also, if you are producing much more than you need (for example Germany's production of energy) you can trade it for another resource you need (for example selling Germany's energy for oil).

Later in the game, building nuclear reactors increases your power outpt (I think!) Cos on my current German game, my power output in Berlin is about 200 or something.
I found IC confusing when I started playing, now its TC thats got me!
HOI is a very complicated game.

Re: Newb question: How do i increase RESOURCE production?
Make sure you have enough supplies, and oil for the units that consume oil. Your units overseas rely on the convoys sent from your mainland. Make sure that you protect your convoys with enough escorts that no raiders will dare go near them.
TC isn't so complex. For every effective IC you get 1.5 TC. This is further modified by the logistics technologies. TC should always be green ...partisans should be suppressed as much as possible in your occupied territories. Also, you shouldn't redeploy many units at once if your TC is low.

...and then release some...or sell some of the provinces to your allies...I just hate the bloody TC drain
If you are low on both resources and TC, releasing puppets is pretty much what you need to do with your occupied provinces. No TC drain and a steady income of the puppet's resources...

Re: Newb question: How do i increase RESOURCE production?
You can also reduce the TC burden by building infrastructure in all of your provinces, 100 is max but for example if you conquer Poland theirs are all at 60-80. You have got to supress the rebels. It can also help to load up units with the offensive level of supplies. You can also use your transport planes to bring supplies closer to the front.
If you want to have an armor heavy army you have to build that IC base in the begining. Likewise the Leaders with logistics cut their units use in half or a quarter.

Re: Newb question: How do i increase RESOURCE production?
Well, my German campaign is falling apart, I have had to release all my African territories, there are now more Rebel territories than British, and my IC has dropped from 300, to 250 and now its 100...damn partisans...

No such thing in HoI... The supply stockpile stays in the capital and units are automatically supplied via trucks, trains, barges and stuff (abstracted as the TC)

Re: Newb question: How do i increase RESOURCE production?
Yes, but you can do the air supply mission when you research the able airtransport (I think its tier 2 or the '40)

Re: Newb question: How do i increase RESOURCE production?
Yes, but that's used for supplying encircled units. If you try to drop supplies on the front, they will return to the original stockpile

Re: Newb question: How do i increase RESOURCE production?
You may be right, I know that I have flown them to Africa and England but I do not recall having sent them to a land linked territory. I will have to try it.

Why is it falling apart? I usually let Italy take africa, and I attack from their territory giving them the land. I find too that Africa is a waste of time.
