HoI Question
I keep thinking about getting this - I realise it is not a FPS etc but is it graphics heavy? I ask, as I could do with running it on my laptop?
Your help appreciated.

Re: HoI Question
No, it isn't graphics heavy, on its own. Just small animation and movements, easily able to be taken off too.
It only gets graphically intense when you download a bunch of sprites (usually not a big deal)
Your laptop should handle it.

Re: HoI Question
If you look at screenshots, you'll know what he means. You can set the graphics to Counters, which are normal etc. Your laptop should run it fine, no doubt.

Re: HoI Question
Runs on all of my laptops Paul, including one rather decrepit old one, absolutely no bother. (reckon you'll love it.)
Except I still can't find a 1280 screensize hack for it.
Anyone?
Cheers,
Adam.

Re: HoI Question
Thanks for that. Hopefully my copy should come tomorrow; got it for quite a bargain on eBay. Have a very busy period at work coming up, and hoping this might give some light relief!

That's interesting, so can it force new resolutions onto games quite easily?

I dunno really...I just upload the screenshots from FRAPS onto photobucket...don't know about the resolutions but it works well.

Re: HoI Question
Ah, sorry, I should probably have been clearer, I'm looking for a crack to add the apparently unavailable 1280X screen resolutions when actually playing the game. Looks fuzzy on the widescreen & no suitable res is offered.
Tried one 'hex editor' and it just descended into confusion for me.

Re: HoI Question
Ok guys, Still playing HoI(i know its old) and was wondering how I might increase my manpower. I am playing as NZ and have built a grand total of 4 Infantry units. I shiped them to N. Africa to fight the Italians but only got one battle before i found my troops useless because of insufficiant men. I only recieve 2 manpower per month and it took almost 1.5 years to get my units back to full strength(they really took a beating). Can anyone help?

Re: HoI Question
Hmm...dont lose so many men? LOL. Is your reinforcement slider set to max during battle? If not, you only get a slow trickle of what is needed.
