I read that in Germany during WW2 there was Feldpost 2000 where you could send any kind of wishes.

I was wondering if anyone knows if some special wishes were filled?

I tried to check the net but could not find a thing. As well my books don´t tell anything else worth mentioning.

Ive never heard of Feldpost 2000--but that doesnt mean a thing--since I dont know it all. Sounds like a nice deal though.

During the Vietnam War--(when I was in Kindergarten and first grades) everyone in our classes colored pictures and tried to write letters to the G.I.s in Vietnam. We had for 9 months--a certain Platoon that we sent our drawings and letters to--and I think for Thanksgiving we sent Cranberries on Christmas--we sent packages of Cookies and on Easter--we sent lollipops.

During these months--we had many many replies from the G.I.s in this Platoon. They sent us replies and sometimes pictures and other items. On a few sad occasions--we even got a letter telling us who had been wounded and I remember one letter telling us of one man who had been killed in action. I remember most of us in the class cried when we understood the news.

I sure wish I would have kept those letters that were sent to me--but they are lost to history.

I dont think I have thought about this since I was in those grades.

Coming back to this thread--I also want to say that--most of us in my hometown--as well as nation-wide--fully supported our troops during the Gulf War.

We sent letters--Candy--Sodapops, Cigarettes, Playboys and yes--Coolaid. To a few friends who served over there--I sent a bottle of Cinnamon Schnapps to my friend Gavin--who was a Corporal in the Marines. I sent a small bottle of Whiskey to my friend Joe-Ed--who was a combat Medic.

At that time--I was working at Godfathers Pizza in Kingsville, as a Cook/Delivery Driver. Our store owner allowed us to deliver free Pizzas out to the Naval Air Station--located about 3 miles or so from Godfathers Pizza.

The SPs and the Gate Guards had free Pizza (at least by me) three times a week.

To do something for these people really meant and still means alot to me--you can easily see that this kind of thing has been a life-long thing for me.

If we do fighting in Iraq--ill be sending items to our guys and to Bish if he has to go.
