Cool

I am starting a search for information regarding the 283rd Field Artillery Batallion during the period 9/1/1944-1/1/1945. Specifically, I am looking for the field records of Lieutenant Jack Hare, again he was assigned tot he 283rd Field ARtillery Batallion and had under his command Americans and Allied soldiers. Lt. Jack Hare died approximately on 10/28/1944 in a Germany hospital after receiving mortal wounds from a mine field near Einighausen, Netherlands (base camp). Dutch soldiers dying at the scene of the truck hitting the mine field were van Agtmaal and Vermeulen. P Reijen was a Dutch soldier taken POW by the Germans.

Any information on these events or how I can find information would be appreciated.

Unfortunately I am not an addecuate person to answer your question. I know very little about USA's armed forces. But wait a little until our experts come.
